Quick question frome someone who hasn't gotten around to watch Dino Charge yet: how much of the footage is re-used from Kyoryuger? I remember watching the first DC episode and it had original footage.

It's enough new footage that you'll notice that the US blue suit is too bright, the gold suit is piss tan, and the gray suit sometimes looks like it's got blue arms.

Fights are mostly from Kyoryuger, but they are well edited within the show for the most part,and dont take the entire episode as in super megaforce, they are well distributed.
The megazord fights are all sentai footage as usual, but there's some CGI original scenes that, aside from the fact that its kids tv show CGI, its well integrated and helps making you feel the human characters and the zords are on the same place.
There also are many out of suit fights (not an enormous amount, but many).
That said, as >>13785969 said the suit differences can get notorious in those exact three cases, although for the other 4 main ranger suits they are fine, not as clashing as Megaforce/Goseiger suits.

Has anyone ever actually timed how much Sentai footage gets used per episode? I know it'd vary from season to season (Samurai/MF/SMF would use way more than say RPM, for example), but it'd be a use measure for when the new Sentai comes out, and people inevitably say "This season is unadaptable"

Found it. It only goes up to Ninja Storm, so it doesn't really take into account how Disney seasons tend to use it less, especially RPM (though that show went over budget and fired its first executive producer).
Honestly, when people reason Go-Busters not being adapted with the notion that it's just unadaptable because of Enter/Escape being prominently featured in fight footage, I can't help but scoff in my head. Maybe under a Tzachor tenure, but Lynn surely would have made it work. Go-Busters simply wasn't adapted because of merchandising interests.

I think has Zack has a brother or a cousin they introduced in season 2, and we know about there parents. But for the rest, we don't really know much about the rangers family hirstoies. Yeah, I take back what I said about MMPR after seeing Tommy. Regardless, it's less the seasons they went with and more the specific rangers. MMPR Green and Red Space make sense in their own ways, but Gold Zeo, Silver Megaforce, and Pink Dino Charge?

Gold Zeo is one of the most popular sixths after Tommy, maybe along with Titanium or Quantum.
Silver Megaforce is a recent sixth(sixths are cooler to most people, not to me though),
DC Pink is odd, but they probably wanted to put a girl. At least it was the best neo-saban girl.
So in Ninninger they did this thing that I hope they use in Ninja Steel where they have 3 red rangers. Now in the sentai they do it because they are related and they just got their power back but I hope they figure out how to do it in Ninja Steel without the blood relation.
Unless it's like, himself from the future or something. I just never liked the idea of rangers being related and that's why they are rangers. Gem and Gemma being exceptions since they just work so well together but Saban could never pull that off, or would even be willing to.

That's not the reason GoBus wasn't adapted. It's because of Enter and Escape. They couldn't use footage with them. And Enter and Escape are the only generals Vaglass had. We had human villains being replaced in the past, but there always were other generals. Even RPM relied on all of generals' costumes. So did Time Force, In Space and many others.
Basically, we would probably get ToQGer if Ninninger villains were all actual people.

That said, I'm on the fence. On the one-hand, either they would turn it into girl-power propaganda, or they wouldn't and FemRed would be just like any other Red but people who aren't kids and who also don't post on Maori ta moko imageboards would pick up on it, and treat it as girl-power propaganda.

For years, I assumed that Pink being the leader was actually just an American addition, because outside of the first couple of episodes, all the sentai footage would seem to suggest that Red is the leader. But, apparently Pink was the leader in both the Sentai and PR (Because Time Force is a fairly close adaptation of Timeranger). So, Jen was technically the leader, but most of the footage has Wes front and center, for some reason.

NinjaWhite was also the leader in Kakuranger, but its a plot formality, that's why you dont often see that in the fighting formations.
In Megaranger the black was also, in theory, the leader (that's why Carlos had the best stats and held the team weapon, fuck the people who complained about Zack), in Gekiranger the leader was the yellow, also technically(none of this appears in JF) and the Goseigers were stated to have no leader(which was ignored in Megaforce).

The problem is that most of the people who would buy PR merch or who would even watch the show are not the people who like Hunger Games or would complain about a lack of Rey merch because of sexism.
PR's demo is elementary school, mostly guys with some girls.
Hunger Games' demo is middle to high school, mostly girls with some guys.
And I've honestly never even noticed actual Star Wars toys. I don't even remember any commercials for them when the prequels came out. They certainly aren't toyetic enough to be as popular as PR, and they always seem to look like hot garbage, that Kylo Ren one is awful. And Hunger Games doesn't have toys at all, because they aren't appealing to people who still play with toys.

The thing is that sentai aside, PR was always marketed as a boys think, just check how the toys always give special power ups to the male members only (girls only get those when its a full team power up), the ranger keys released were mostly male and Gia had no focus episodes to the point they switched a Luka/Don episode to a Noah/Jake episode.
Never say never though(there were, after all, MMPR dolls), but it would sort of go against how the franchise has been conceived for the last years, so I personally dont see it happening. Power rangers is already very politically correct anyways (but without letting that hurt the show).

Star Wars is toyetic as fuck anon, its in fact considered one of the main things like make the franchise what it is, sort of how gunpla was always part of the gundam franchise. SW is super toyetic, but not in the same way Power Rangers is, because SW is a blockbuster film franchise, and Power Rangers is a children's TV show.

If it's going onto a shelf and not into a kid's hands, it's not a toy. Image search shows lots of Amazon reviews that treat those HG figurines as collectibles that offer very little in the way of actual play (there's little to no articulation, and the clothes are all molded plastic), and that they're good collector's items.

-Imagination as a theme. It's something that really skews Toqger to a younger audience. I never really liked it because it presumes only little kids can be imaginative and not adults who work in creative industries.
-The LED display announcing the Zord's names. Or maybe not considering how these things are unedited (the original Gosei card names were kept in Megaforce)

We usually use the expression "original footage" for PR only footage btw.

Ultraman has been dubbed and aired in the US a couple times, but I never recall anyone ever talking about it or ever seeing toys on the shelves. I don't think even Power Rangers could survive in the US market as just a dubbed show.
