Too bad it's a shoop.

Just opened in Photoshop, zoomed in and you can clearly see the area have been smudged.

What an amateur work, the artifacts are really not that hard to reproduce and would give him a way more believable look ( Could always be uncertified, but it would be much harder than just closely looking at it ).
>>
>>13751995
There's not actually that much money at stake but rather the financial solvency of the company. Which still doesn't make jewish as fuck moves like splitting a game in two and selling it for double the price defensible.

>give us more stories set in the months and years after Alternative's final victory in Operation Ouka.
That will pretty much immediately obsolete the current expanded universe though, so Alternative 2 still sits somewhere beyond the horizon after they finish everything else.
>>
>>13753031
All the more reason they should have started investing in new IPs long ago, to generate new sources of cash in preparation for when Muv-Luv becomes old and busted.
>>
>>13753065
Kind of hard to invest when you're selling off everything you can and restructuring just to finish what you're working on.

We don't know what the arrangement is but you can basically assume MAGES probably effectively bought age at some point in the last few years, at the very least they're joined at the hip.
>>
I'd appreciate some input from a novels reader.

How will they break down seven novels into only twelve episodes? No matter how you slice it, at least two volumes will have only a single episode to cover them.

Can anyone provide some overview of what each of the seven novels covers, and which novels are primarily useless fluff like swimming pool visits and snowball fights that could be easily cut?
>>
>>13753208
Don't start this man.

If you read the translated portions of Volume I, you'd already know that they've botched pretty much all the character introductions.

My guess is they'll compact the nuances characters have, showing only their domineering traits and leading to a lot of exaggerations, kinda like the KGNE anime. Metaphorically, the LN characters would be like fine wine, while the anime is going to be like grain alcohol.
>>
>>13752932
>too bad
Hairyfags die
>>
>>13753208
They will probably jump into the rebellion way faster. What people are leaving out in their massive bitchfits is that the Stasi are a background presence for a big chunk of the LN/VN story (Beatrix barely even appears in the first game) but they're being introduced in a very straightforward fashion very early on here for a reason.

It's still going to be a pretty much "this thing happened" level adaption though, like Black Bullet and Madan no Ou to Vanadis that crammed 4 and 5 volumes into 12 episodes respectively. Anyone watching this expecting any kind of depth is kind of insane. I've already made peace with the fact Kirke will barely show up only to let people know she exists.

I don't get your point. You mean that Age will suffer as a consequence of releasing sequels in the Alternative universe?
>>
>>13753253
Yeah, probably the reason the stasi were introduced as straight forward evil villain types rather than the more subtle route the LN went with.
>>
>>13753216
>they've botched pretty much all the character introductions
And what else do you expect them to do with only one cours?
>>
>>13753279
Not much really. Characters gotta feel or taste the same, which they don't in the anime. Even if they totally changed the plot, so long as the characters felt like they should, then it wouldn't be much of a problem. It's kinda hard to describe, it might just all be psychological. Maybe someone who watches the anime first and then plays the VN or read the LN would be able to provide a better analyses.
>>
>>13753253
Kirke isn't even listed among the characters for the anime, so she might even be cut completely.

I have a question about the Kickstarter. Apparently the deadline for apparel stuff has been extended to the 20th, but somewhere else on the forums it says that if you order an apparel item (I'm getting the TSF Pilot jacket) that as long as you get it before Backerkit is closed In March/April you can still order the item, it'll just be shipped later, presumably with all the figs and stuff later in the year.

Am I understanding this right? It'd be much more convenient for me if I don't have to scramble by the 20th. I want to change banks before I order it, so its possible for me to pay it now, I'd just like the whole baking thing to go through first.

Schwarzemarken seems fun so far, I hope the VN gets translated at some point, because I prefer reading the source material. Not sure who's best German girl just yet.

I don't know if we've ever had a decent explanation for how functional they actually are without jump units. If you actually look at the things front to back the back hump goes much higher than the cockpit block and the Shiranui cutaway has some other block in there, so that's probably where whatever shit besides the jump unit engines is.

Only fighter and attack aircraft starting in the 60s became giant robots. A lot of bombers and basically any transport aircraft are still around.

Bombers and Transports
>>
>>13753721
Planes are still around, for example a lot of battles throughout the series consist of moping up the laser class with TSF and calling in bombers to carpet the rest.
>>
>>13753738
And even then not every jet got legged.

It's sorta arbitrary which ones made the jump, unless there's a plan to make TSFs of every plane from the F11 onward due to that weird bit where Tiger I comes after Phantom and even the F-5 if I'm not messing up my family tree memory. Long story short the Crusader is in an awkward grey zone in Muv Luv, where it could've been the last of the jet fighters or an early TSF precursor for all we know.

Also worth mentioning is the one exception to the rule about bombers not getting made into mechs: XB-70's not-exactly-a-TSF alternate universe incarnation, the XG-70.

You've forced me to consider the fact that ero voice acting is pretty much dying. Maybe the internet has contributed to people not wanting the association when it's so much easier to get found out but there's also so much fucking all ages shit out there these days between old eroge developers going all ages, low budget anime style video games, and app games out the butthole that it's usually not very necessary for anyone with much of a name.

Omigawa (allegedly) is like the only seiyuu I can think of under 30 to do it, the people who are going to be taking over anime roles from Shizuka Itous and Yuu Asakawas are never going to get into adult voice acting.
>>
why do they keep adapting bad spinoffs again
>>
>>13754480
Because they can get someone else to pay for the LN promotion and jamming all their seiyuu in the uncast roles.
>>
>>13754488
If Age had planned this better, they'd follow up the anime with the VN. Instead, they've delayed it until Winter, when the advertising power of the anime will have greatly waned.
>>
>>13754494
Oh they planned it perfectly, they just didn't execute for shit. Anyways the first Vita port will probably come out around the right time which is arguably more relevant (eg. Majikoi anime ended up promoting the PS3 port)
>>
>>13754376

>>
>>13754856
Well I've never cared to bother with that game but her character sure has sex in it. Nanjo is an old eroge seiyuu (usually as Aya Tachibana) but she is a crippled obaasan at this point.

Although KimiIta 2012 is a weird game given they got Kumiko Watanabe to stay on for it.

>>In 1967, the space race resulted in contact with the hostile ALPHA aliens hiding out on the moon, and their assault on a world too freshly divided turned the earth into a frozen hell!
>>Now specialized squadrons from East Germany, otherwise known as the German Democratic Republic, are dispatched to try and clean up the battlefields with mech-driven heavy artillery, the Robotic Assault Drones, RAD!
>>The 666th squadron, known as the BLACK REAPERS, are the strongest in the corp, but their integrity may be under threat of compromise thanks to infiltration by the evil Stazis, who want to turn the war into a vehicle for East Germany's supremacy over the world!
>>Captain Teddy Ableback, fearful of such an outcome, begrudgingly enlists the help of West German transplant Katie Wallham to turn the tide of this global disaster and save the Earth from the alien threat once and for all!

>I initially approached Schwarzesmarken with trepidation. I've heard mixed reviews of its predecessor, Muv-Luv Alternative (of which Schwarzesmarken serves as a prequel), and its setting in East Germany raised red flags that this could easily be more conservative propaganda masquerading as a military otaku harem show.

>The unit is where the anime takes its name which is the German word for “666.” This sort of “scary” Christian imagery will seem tired to Westerners where every B-level horror film about demon possession has invoked 666 at one point or another. That said, I can't help but associate military units and vague religious icons with Nazism, especially ones shown committing mass executions. Schwarzesmarken is just toeing the line

Even if the defense line broke there was a backup plan.
The rest of the NVA reserve forces would have been rushed to the area and along with the Stasi MPs they would restabilize the line while the Stasi would complete their objective.

>>13760766
her hesitating in the OP and the fact that they cut away when yoiu hear the gunshot makes me think that she wasn't the one who shot him. anyone who has read the novels/VN/BIS could correct me but is it possible that Iris, Jurgen and Beatrix get caught in some big mess (maybe Iris is the reason they get caught) and Jurgen takes the fall to protect them. the Stasi still suspect Iris so they force her to execute Jurgen with Beatrix being made to oversee it, Iris is unable to kill him and jurgen, as his last wish, begs beatrix to kill him and say that Iris did it to save her which she does. this would explain why iris never denied killing jurgen and why Iris and Beatrix hate each other so much, Iris hates that Beatrix was able to kill her brother and builds further on the jealousy of her not being as good as Beatrix as she was able to do what Iris couldn't. Beatrix simply feels that Iris is responsible for what happened
>>
>>13761111
Jurgen and Iris were involved with anti-government shit, Stasi found them out, Jurgen had Iris rat him out and kill him so she'd survive (they already knew at that point anyway). Beatrix is mad that Iris killed Jurgen and that they didn't let her know anything.

Rather convoluted if you ask me. The anime is likely to remove the whole romance/ childhood friendship shit in BiS if they cover it. It'll likely be that Beatrix was just some sadistic crazy lady who couldn't take Iris being better than so she framed / forced Iris to rat out Jurg (basically making what Theo thinks canon).

SCHWARZESMARKEN TSF pilot Theodore Ebelbach is today exposed as a secret sado-masochist sex pervert.

The brother of infamous Stasi member Lise Hoenstein is filmed romping with five hookers at a depraved STASI-STYLE orgy in a torture dungeon. Ebelbach— a friend to Schwarzesmarken big names like Katia Waldheim and Irisdina Bernhard— barks ORDERS in GERMAN as he lashes girls wearing mock DEATH CAMP uniforms and enjoys being whipped until he BLEEDS.

The TSF pilot brother of Hoenstein, who is a pal of Heinz Axman, plays a concentration camp commandant in a FIVE-HOUR torture chamber video.

Ebelbach—the most powerful pilot in Schwarzesmarken—barks orders in German as he WHIPS two hookers dressed in striped uniforms reminiscent of AUSCHWITZ garb while girls in Stasi uniforms look on.

At one point the strapping 18-year-old—who publicly likes to give the impression he has put his sister's evil legacy behind him—yells "she needs more of ze punishment!" while brandishing a LEATHER STRAP over a brunette's naked bottom.

Then the lashes rain down as Ebelbach counts them out in German: "Eins! Zwei! Drei! Vier! Fünf! Sechs!"

With each blow, the girl yelps in pain as grinning, red-haired Ebelbach becomes clearly aroused. And after the beating, he makes her perform a sex act on him.

Before hammering away at the girls he plays a cowering death camp inmate himself, having his GENITALS inspected and his hair searched for LICE—mocking the humiliating way Jews were treated by SS death camp guards in World War II.

Then, head bowed and tied up in chains, he is interrogated by a dominatrix before being chained up and LASHED so hard over a TORTURE BENCH that he WHIMPERS for mercy and has to have a wound dressing put on his backside.

His capitalism-hating sister—who had Axman as guest of honour at her birthday party—would have been proud of her warped brother's command of German as he struts around looking for bottoms to whack.

But even the vile Stasi fascist might have been less impressed with the sordid company her adopted sibling keeps.

Ebelbach's appointment with his hookers was at a smart 2million mark riverside flat on East Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg at noon on Friday.

Our investigators obtained a graphic video of his sick antics.

The girls arrived first, led by the main dominatrix, a stern-faced blonde, carrying a suitcase laden with whips, chains and uniforms. Half an hour later, Ebelbach turned up wearing a smart overcoat and suit after making the short walk from his nearby Prenzlauer Berg home.

After paying £2,500 in cash, Ebelbach was ordered by the head hooker to strip as she played out his sick fantasy.

"OK, undress," she snapped. "UNDRESS! You are going to be punished to be shown how we treat prisoners in our facility."

As his white Y-fronts hit the floor, the powerfully built blonde barked out her orders: "Lie face down! Don't look at me!" Ebelbach meekly obeyed and was chained and manacled before another blonde dominatrix, wearing only a jacket, shirt and knee-length boots, entered the room.

As another hooker ticked off points on an inspection sheet, she roughly scrutinised his head and private parts before demanding his age. "I'm 21," he whispered, lying to attract a severe beating. He also lied about his name, saying he was called Yuuya Bridges, so the punishment would be really painful.

His flogging over, he left the room before saying, "Thank you, mistress". After having his wounds dressed, Ebelbach makes the transformation from masochist to sadist. Now fully clothed, he bends two blonde girls over the whipping bench, their striped concentration camp-style uniform bottoms yanked down to expose their buttocks.

He converses in German with one girl throughout the torture, loving every minute of death camp role-play, while the other girl pleads: "I don't know what you are saying, so I don't know what to do."

Humboldt-educated Ebelbach has refused to condemn his sister who was considered so dangerous she was interned during the war. He once said in an interview: "She is wonderful as a person. But I don't think my sister would have made a good Stasi agent. She talked tough but, fundamentally, he was too soft."

Whereas her brother is a hard man—especially when it comes to beating girls' naked bottoms. One of the hookers is strapped into a gag to stifle her screams as Ebelbach lays into her backside in front of the other four girls. With a Stasi swagger, he counts each stroke in German before having sex with his ‘victim'.

After the sex marathon, Ebelbach dressed again and had a quick pit-stop, turning down wine in favour of a cup of Beatrix fanboy tears. At 5.05pm, he put on his overcoat and disappeared into the blustery afternoon to resume his other life as Theodore the respectable TSF pilot who will be participating in the laser jagd in Hohenschönhausen next weekend.

You can always tell someone has no fucking idea about anime sales when they use the combined total.

None of the volumes without an event ticket sold over 5.5k. Considering we're talking about a robot anime that's pretty much treading water. Given there's minimal promotional value to ring out of it from a second season (only new releases are the manga adaption) it's just not appealing over doing something new.

Holy shit I'm ready to take back my gripes about the show's CGI.

It's a bunch of small isolated bits but the movement of the TSFs suddenly feels on the ball.

I mean it wouldn't wow anyone here since it's not high octane combat but they've got the taxiing aspect conveying the right mix of bulk and grace, good on them for a zero budget show.

It's the moment you see the Fishbed swing its sword into mount that I pretty much jizzed my pants.

I mean I'll have to scrutinize that the hand didn't exactly convincingly twist the sword properly and instead had it magically rotate a few degrees without appropriate hand movement but otherwise the way everything moves and is visually portrayed has just the right amount of motion going on, and that stuff is borderline pornographic.

Remains to be seen if it's a fluke or not, but at least episode 2 will stand out as the one where they got things right, at least in my eyes.
>>
>>13762532
You can always tell someone is autistic by a reply like yours. How much money do you think age or Kouki actually funded the TE anime project to Satelight in the first place if he has to go out of his way on his own twitter account the week before the last episode airs near Christmas time to say "Hey, its true we basically gave Satelight a shoestring budget".

5.5k a volume is fucking above average by today's market in any standard you throw at it.

Sometimes it's just low FPS, others it doesn't mesh well with the 2D art and characters. I think SM has been doing pretty well with the latter at least, and decently with the former.

One school of thought believes that excessively smooth CGI clashes too strongly with regular animation, and that it's better to enforce a uniform framerate of sorts.

It's something to be evaluated on a per work basis, as it's not the framerate that matters so much as scene direction/composition.

Mind you, about a decade ago people would just as likely shit on CGI for looking too smooth because herp derp CGI a shit too videogamey MUH HAND DRAWN. It's arguably a more recent development that smoother = better with CGI, a retraction of the behaviors shown back in the Gonzo years.

Literally the only thing I would have changed would be maybe the camera shaking a bit when it first steps off its cradle.
Aside from that, for a series of this budget, its damn good.

Ironic.

Shoestring budget is relative to the content. It was obviously a a cheap as shit robot anime but that doesn't mean it still didn't cost more to make per episode than something without tons of CGI and action sequences.

How the fuck do you think age has the money to just fund an anime on their own because? Why are you bringing up something four fucking years old like it has any relevance anymore?
>>
>>13762674
artificial limitation, they have the same FPS as the standard non-cgi animation.

personally I can take CG animation being a bit stiff when it comes to robots/machines but it when it comes to human character it will always feel off to me, the new anime, Ajin, is a prime example of that

Depends on the CGI studio in question and the director and the lead animator.

Prove that.

They couldn't even afford to pay Ono for most of his lines in the anime or the VN, you double-nigger.

Ajin is a Polygon project though and the thing with Polygon is that they're an acquired taste.

What's the excuse for the dated visuals and Nips calling SM a "early 2000s looking production" even though its only a single cour then?
>>
>>13762717
Damn anon, that one nip anon's opinion really scarred you, huh?

Not him, but it's true. For a tangentially-related feeling, I got the same vibes from AgK. Both have this really "2000s" aesthetic, and not in a good way. You could pluck them out of time and drop them off in '04 and they wouldn't be that out of place. Even TE at least had a 'modern' feeling to it of its time, though a low budget one.
>>
>>13762694
>>13762700

How does the process work? Are the cg animations done at literally the same frame rates as the hand drawn stuff? Or is it done at something higher and then blended with the 24fps-whatever frame rate non-cg animation?

Someone do the tab with gay sex with hats on.

What's up with the constant comparisons to AgK, even in stuff that's not even related to Beatrix or deaths? True that AgK had an early 2000s look, but I disagree about SM, it has a very unique look and color palette that's rarely seen in anime. And you're using nostalgia glasses for TE, I don't know where you got that "modern feeling" from.

I'm just asking because it seems to be a general consensus here on /a/, /m/, 2chan, and other parts of the internet when people talk about its visuals and animations.

It gives off a dated appearance with the character art style used for the adaption that doesn't help things. So is it another low budget adaption?

What exactly is "very unique" about the art style or the color palette that makes it so rare in anime? Because I really really REALLY don't see this uniqueness to it at all for the visuals.

Hell if I know, I didn't watch Shake 'n Bake like the majority of people who pretend they know how the industry works.

But if I remember right, I think you can still render animations in 3d modelling programs as a series of individual images. If it were me, I'd pick and choose frames to go along with the drawn scenes, dropping a few to create the illusion of a lowered framerate. Or something.
>>
>>13762810
Really? Tell me the last anime you watched that used lots of darker colors in a snowy setting like this.
>>
>>13762708
How does that suggest they could afford a second season?

>>13762717
If you gave SM the same budget as a CGDCT show the character animation would inherently be cheaper (read shittier) to account for needing to budget for all the CGI action sequences.

That's why LN adaptions are so rarely ambitious since they can't get the money to do these sorts of more plot-centric complicated to animate source material well.

Photoshopfag reporting, here you go Irisfags, now you have a shoop with her.

And here is the Pronhub page image if you are interested, I had fun faking it but unfortunately I couldn't keep it readable as I was processing it.

Maybe for the drawn stuff but I really don't know where to put the CGI in light of episode 2.

And even in ep1 the CGI wasn't 2000's level.

I mean, there's a certain look to that shit. Very underdeveloped in the textures department.
