No, I seriously don't. Their motives are both deluded and severely harmful to the world at large, but that didn't matter to Hibiki. This was a consistent part of her character that persisted into GX, despite its many other failings. It could have been elaborated on better and more time should have been spent to make Carol a better character, but it doesn't reflect poorly on Hibiki.

Carol was a mess and could have used a few more revisions, along with revamping her limp fake losing scheme and the entire buildup to the finale. Also using a different final attack would have been nice, but Glorious Break was really good.
I don't think G was particularly compelling storywise by the end, but at least it was novel. Season 1 had it right with putting the characters' lives and principles at risk, though it had the luxury of being the first season. It was still more hype than anything that came after it due to the stakes, in my opinion. Pic related.
