Is Ryu Knight any good?
All I know is that it's one of the few fantasy mech shows and that's it

Ryu Knight starts good, but it hits a series of problems around the time the Ryus start upgrading that make the quality of the show worse (FOUR FUCKING RECAP EPISODES). And one of the best mechs in the show gets to be onscreen for like a single minutepoor Rune Knight.
On the other hand, the second half does have a surprise appearance of the Humanoid Typhoon joining the main cast, so that's a thing.

I really liked it. Definitly a must watch. Good story, good characters, very good world and RPG feels, good hype scenes.
I like everything I watch though, and contrary to most prople on the net I don't watch things I don't like.
Haven't seen the ova version yet.
4 recaps episodes should be perfectly fine for a 50 episodes series, especially if they try to make them funny and comments on the scenes instead of simple recap. The problem is that the episodes are too close to each other and near the end.

Also they attempt to give them plots, but the plots are really fucking stupid (that green thing turns into a human! Better GO OVER THE ENTIRE SHOW, oh wait it's back to normal again. Paffy loses her memories! Better GO OVER THE ENTIRE SHOW AGAIN, oh wait she has them back making this whole trip entirely unnecessary)

Awesome throughout, the second half raises the stakes with better villains contrary to what the other anons are saying and the OVAs had nice art and a great ending theme. Definitely worth it!
