I'm confused about what happend around ep.7.
I remember back when the show was airing that people said that the main cause for the second half of the show going downhill was that the producers were interfering and telling them to make a fanservice beach episode as a breather, so Kaneko had to alter everything and eventually even the finale had to get changed from the original plans. Also people got angry at him when he put swimsuit-transformations into the beach episode which didn't give the animators the breather they needed.

Sorta. From what we know and from what he said:
>Higher ups requested a beach episode as a breather
>Kaneko still put a lot of fight in the beach episode despite the fact it was supposed to be the breather because he was pressed for time
>He forgot to ask for the henshin sequence of Chris in a swimsuit, so the animators had to work overtime
>That and more probably caused him to change the script a lot
Granted, this is going from what he told us. He wouldn't start badmouthing his bosses on twitter, so it's likely there is another side to the story we don't know.

Kaneko said that the director told him he could go all out this time around before GX even began, it's on the Bikki interview comic.
When Kaneko showed the director the revised ending, he said that the director looked at him with a awkward grin and said something like: "So that's how you want to end it, huh?" and he didn't get why.

We know next to nothing of the original ending. To begin with, we deduced there would be suffering from a comment Nana made, saying she screamed like mad during the recording of episode 7 and that the second to last episode made her wonder if the geahs could even win.
As episode 7 was the beach episode, the theory we ran was that she just mistook 6 and 7 and her screaming was about IGNITE.
Since Nana wrote Exterminate for symphogear and Kaneko asked her if he could use it as the final attack card before it all even began, it's possible the original ending related better to it, so maybe you can draw some conclusion from Exterminate's lyrics.

I may be misremembering, but didn't we also hear something about GX being a full episode ahead of schedule at some point while it was airing? As much as I know what "ahead of schedule" ought to mean when it comes to the creation of anime, I can't help but wonder if it didn't actually refer to Kaneko shifting things around so that the Carol fight happened an episode earlier than originally planned.
Even with Nana having the original script, she was still caught out by the addition of the bushi noise and her being credited for drawing it in the respective episode. It's clear that she didn't quite know everything.

Yeah, that could be it. Some people were quick to point out that Nana's "I had never screamed so much before in my life"(paraphrasing) didn't carry any ominous tones. As it stands, she really was probably referring to IGNITE, as it's an episode close to 7 and neither 7 nor 8 has Nana screaming.
What things have been fixed in the BD anyway?
