The issue with Unicorn is that they created a high risk plot, when we already know the outcome. I enjoyed it over all, by the ending was way to into itself. If the box being revealed was as risky as they tried to make it seem, the next entry in the time line wouldn't be 30 years after the events. It's character development was shit, with full frontal bringing the only perspective worth thinking about.

4 was pretty shit for what they did with Banagher's arc with Loni, which was a pretty damn important part of his development in the novel, and the Shamblo fight itself was a lot more tense due to the fact that Mahdi was controlling it himself, thus the Banagher had no choice but to fight in a crowded city whereas in the OVA, he chooses to talk her down because fighting would likely destroy the city just as badly as Loni would have, only faster. So one of the most tense battles of the Unicorn's story was replaced with a DBZ-style psycoframe powerup battle.
All in all, they shoved about three novels worth of content and rewrote a big portion of it to accommodate a butchered version of what could have been a pretty interesting character during what should have been the best arc of the OVA.
The Torrington Battle was fucking grand, though.

While the Toku are the minority, they insist on their legitimacy. While Gunota are the majority, the most outspoken are absolutely vile self-important namefags who say that Toku should be purged from /m/ and that Zeon did nothing wrong.
Of course, in true Gundam fashion, neither side is really a bastion of good citizenship but despite repeated uprisings the Zeon have been unable to purge the Toku from the board.

Not him but as part of the STOP FALLING FOR THE CYCLE OF BUTTHURT overarching theme I thought it made the best of its situation. Loni acts as a scaled down version of the overall conflict, and from that we get to see both the ideal of walking away from our pain to move on with our lives, and a harsh reality in how some people just need to be put down because they're so consumed by the vicious cycle that they know no other way to live their lives and no amount of POSSIBILITY changes the risk of letting them go to possibly do even more harm.
Though, considering that very sequence is rehashed like 3 times or more in the entire OVA, it does kinda look like a waste of character in hindsight. But what can I say, I'm a sucker for cyclic butthurt drama.
