Everyone raves about how good I Have no Mouth is, but 2bh I thought it was pretty meh. The premise is okay, but the writing is very sloppy.

I read a story today, about how this kid doesn't get picked for his track team, and so he goes to the forest to read a book, finds a gnome, the gnome literally tells him he didn't finish gnome school and can only grant him one wish. So he wishes to be faster than all the other kids.

This is the last sentence.

"Do you know anyone who will give a job to a teenage centaur?"

Swear to god, wanted to vomit. This is the overconfident writer who really doesn't care what he writes.
