I personally love him.

I am genuinely fascinated as to whether they are:
a. very subtle trolling
b. an example of an overarching culture connecting new /lit/ browsers in that they make the same thread with the same question as soon as the last one gets bumped off the last page.
c. a single individual who lives Lovecraft and sees that the threads get action, and has set up an RSS bot to let him know when the last one has expired.
Kindle and Stoner threads also raise these questions.
He was the original Internet autist, decades before the Internet. His life interests me more than his works.

Fantastic imagination but poor prose. Too much adjective soup.

Read Poe instead.
Great ideas, poor use of language. I always found his stuff was really hard to get through, and this is coming from a fan.

I have find that this is something pretty common with scfi writers, why is that?
When, long ago, the gods created Earth
In Jove's fair image Man was shaped at birth.
The beasts for lesser parts were next designed;
Yet were they too remote from humankind.
To fill the gap, and join the rest to Man,
Th'Olympian host conceiv'd a clever plan.
A beast they wrought, in semi-human figure,
Filled it with vice, and called the thing a Nigger. He's pretty cool
Lovecraft is the most interesting horrible writer I've ever seen. I love reading about what he wrote, but actually reading what he wrote is just not great.
