Has Greek/Roman mythology become too clichéd in literature and media in general? Is there any way a new author can explore it in an original way?

This is a great question. I'm starting a new fantasy book, and I'm trying to consider monsters in it, and I always loved Greek and Roman mythological beasts. Stuff like the Hydra, Medusa,Cerberus.

The gods I don't much care for, but will probably end up bringing in a new pantheon of gods I created, filling similar roles.

My biggest issue is basically trying to avoid being PERCY JACKSON 2.0, insert YA inaccurate mythological things here.

I've done some digging into North american Indian mythology and found some interesting ideas for creatures and things, so if I take a healthy dose from a few different cultures, it should be fine, right?
