yeah, I figured that, that's why I asked. I don't want to push him away and I do trust him, but what makes me freak out the most is, that he knows, that it irks me and he still doesn't say anything when his friends are openly flirting with him despite me sitting right next to them.
he is open and all and I don't control him or anything. I can trust him and I do trust him, but seeing almost all of his friends being after his butt does still hurt.
if someone has experience in that matter: does it help to constantly remind yourself that you can trust your partner once you feel jealous?
and jealousy obviously comes from selfesteem-issues. me having those doesn't change the fact that he has them too (what he admits and calls out as the reason for his jealousy).

Different actions have different meanings for different people. One person might see flirting as basically telling someone you want to fuck them, while another person sees flirting as a meaningless and harmless activity that they can enjoy with friends.
Your boyfriend doesn't say anything about his friends flirting with him because he sees flirting as not a big deal and harmless. He might even know that they want to have sex with him, but since he's not going to have sex with them, he considers them flirting with him as not a problem. You're unlikely to get him to consider flirting the way you see it, because you've just got a real different point of view.
Next time his friends are openly flirting with him in front of you, if it really bothers you, maybe you should stand up for yourself and tell them that you don't like them doing it (instead of expecting your boyfriend to do something about it).
