Here's some tips, don't feel obligated to hang out with shitty people just because you're desperate for friends. Try to make different friends who are chill with you and whom you can trust. I feel like the micro labels of it all are only used as much when you're new to being gay or young in general. Because you're trying to understand your own homosexuality and how it your overall self fit together it helps to find a label/group to belong. It's kind of like how in high school people cling to labels like goth/emo/jock/gangster/etc cause they're teens trying to understand themselves and their relation into social circles and society. But after the teens when they're more comfortable they drop the strict labels. Kinda that cause I did have friends that were all "at least you're not like THOSE OTHER LESBIANS" but really before coming out or realizing I was gay I was pretty tomboy, at least compared to my straight girl friends I was the tomboy of the group. I'd just been growing my hair long at the time and my first girlfriend got me into skincare and some make up and I just started paying more mind to fashion and heels and my hair style. She'd call me soft femme to her hard femme and I liked it. Certainly didn't fit butch, chapstick felt too ellen degeneres and besides I was wearing some lipgloss.
It used to bug me a lot that if I was hanging around all lesbians I'd be seen as the more feminine one but if I was hanging around straight girls I was the most butch/guy one. Childhood friend and I burned one at the stake in 5th grade because someone had told us Barbies created unrealistic expectations for women.
