Source for the transgender dogs? I just don't see how that could be possible. I would believe dogs could be gay. I've seen my (male) dog hump another (male) dog. Transgender sounds like a stretch.

Humping is an act of dominance in the dog pecking order. Dogs of both sexes hump anything they feel like asserting dominance over.

And I'm sure the prenatal endocrine anomaly that most likely causes transsexualism in people can happen in animals too. I think I've read that they've made transsexual mice/rats in the lab to test said endocrine development hypothesis.
