What battle buddy do you have? Besides companionship and cuddles does he/she/xe have a role in the family?

Did you train him even its just the basics to be house broken? Schultzhund? Gun dog training, bay/catch dog etc...

My family owns a Border Collie. The little guy is loyal as shit and has killed a few birds on his own. He has some obedience issues (such as not running straight at the prey), but we're working them out.

Wanted her to be kind of a watch dog/hiking buddy but she's pretty lazy. Really smart though and good at taking commands. I take her out hiking, backpacking, and on off leash trail runs and so far she has never left my side.

my battle bud. he's an outstanding guard dog. nothing really gets by him. he patrols the house.
i didn't train him much, except for the sit, stay, lay, shake, gentle trick. pretty disciplined, won't eat my food if i leave, but he's also a big goofball.
he turns five tomorrow.

Yup, you sure told me.
At home this little guy is the biggest fucking lap dog ever but outside he goes full rip'n'tear. Also hes /fit/ as fuck and he's got the muscle definition to support it, and he's barely half a year old. I know that with enough training he'll become an excellent hunting dog when my current battle buddy passes away. Can post about other doggos as well if you want
