As a guy that's owned several full sized .45s three of which are a USP and a Springfield loaded and an Operator, I can say a big advantage of the 1911 is the fact that it's the AR/Glock(sort of) of the full size .45 world. By that, I mean you'll never be unable to find parts, mags, holsters, etc. I like my H&Ks, but I will say for a gun that's close to or more than $1k, their triggers are usually not that good, and USPsare fairly blocky albeit super functional and bomb proof. Ive never shot an FNX, but I've handled them an like the ergos a lot.
I don't think you can go wrong either way, but personally I'd get either a 1911 or the FN. the FN more so if you're wanting to go full low speed high drag ultimate operator. Which there's literally nothing wrong with.

IF the rifle has no method of adjusting the gas (adjustable gas block) then yes, a piston will provide less gas-to-face. Gun still runs harder than it should, just the gas is venting elsewhere.
HOWEVER, adjustable gas blocks exist. For both piston and DI. So that point is disingenuous.
Also, piston guns will be on average 3-4dB louder than DI guns with the same barrel length through the same can, because the gas exits the gun at a much higher pressure and velocity due to not traveling...much of anywhere (vs. the entire length of the gas tube).

Yes.
An adjustable gas block is highly recommended for .300blk rifles even if there's no intent to ever suppress it, just due to the major differences in gas volume produced between supers and subs.
For example, my 16" pistol-gassed gun will barely get LRBHO with factory 220gr subs with my current gas block setting (.125" port with SLR adjustable block dialed down to ~.098") but will smash the brass flat against the side of the rifle and significantly erode my brass deflector if I try to shoot supers without closing it off a good bit more.
You can get a .300blk to reliably cycle with both supers and subs without one, but shooting supers is hard on the gun and the brass is very definitely not reloadable.

For high volume precision shooting, generally (barrel quality being equal). However you'll rapidly grow to hate it if you have to carry it very far.
And yes, there's a middle ground. AR10 barrels range from .625" (standard AR pencil/LW profile) to .936" (super fucking fat). Several companies make a "shooter profile" that's pretty damn good from both an accuracy and a weight standpoint.

Look for one that specifies DPMS or LR-308 pattern (current standard, Armalite pattern is dead).
Currently, PSA is a (and possibly the only) one-stop-shop for .308 AR's, they sell everything you need and are decently affordable.
Get the best barrel you can afford, and unless it's made by one of the ~10 main "accuracy" companies don't fucking get a stainless barrel.
Also keep in mind it's generally a good idea to buy the upper and lower from the same manufacturer to insure compatibility, while the DPMS pattern is definitely the main one going right now a couple other companies have taken their own spin on it and, for example, a BRO upper might not fit a PSA lower, or a PSA upper might not fit a Spike's Tactical lower.

There is. What you don't see is the adjustable gas block and hours of tuning that go into it.
Bolt bounce is bad. It increases felt recoil and wear on the rifle. Bolt bounce is caused by either a too-weak buffer spring, or WAY too much gas.
Things like the JP low mass or extra low mass bolt carrier exist, as do a billion different powers of buffer spring. It is possible (though not recommended for anything other than a serious competition gun) to run a low-mass carrier with a reduced power buffer spring and something like a .065" gas port reliably. IF you can get it to be reliable (hence the tuning) it greatly reduces felt recoil as you have greatly less crap slopping around in the receiver every shot, and can actually reduce total wear on the gun somewhat.

I feel like unless I'm pulling out shots at longer distances, a two stage trigger is cumbersome at closer ranges due to the wall that pops up between pulls. When you're not taking your time shooting (such as within 50 yards) I think it's just slightly distracting
