I only need one 3" magnum shell and you won't get back up. Let's go
>>
>>30269501
Having been on both the receiving end and the giving end of tracer fire, I can tell you with 100% certainty that anyone you're actively shooting at isn't going to be able to follow the tracer path back to you.

HOWEVER, a (probably) separate party off at a greater than 45* angle to the side can.

I see no reason to have tracers interspersed in a mag, and I feel like the only reason to do so at the end of a mag is negated by windowed/translucent mags (which are plentiful, quality, and inexpensive).

If you have the time to stop at the first tracer for a combat reload, you have time to turn the gun ~20* and look at your mag. If you DONT have time, you need those last 3 rounds anyway, and it's not like a full reload takes more than about 3 seconds including removing the new mag from a mag pouch.

I don't think QD is a necessity.

The Aero mount is the lightest option available anyways - and I wanted to pair the somewhat chunky Strike Eagle with the lightest mount possible.

I keep a hex key in my grip just in case anyways

Yes.
>mk262 mod 0
77gr Sierra Matchking bullet
>mk262 mod 1
77gr Sierra Matchking bullet with cannelure and crimped primer pocket
>mk262 mod 2
70gr Barnes Tac-TX with brown tip. Expanding monolithic copper hollowpoint trades about 40m max accurate range for actually expanding at its max accurate range.
>M855
62gr SS109 "light armor piercing" bullet with cannelure that actually penetrates armor worse than its predecessor, M193. Mild steel penetrator core in front half of bullet.
>M193 and clones (xm/xp193)
55gr copper jacketed lead cored bullet with cannelure
>M193 tracer
57(ish) grain tracer featuring a red phosphorus rear core/lead front core and an open rear sealed with a gilding metal cup. Designed to match the trajectory of M193 from a 20" barrel.
>M855A1
Improved version of M855, steel penetrator is somewhat harder (though still officially mild steel) and exposed. Pointier. Tends to be slightly more accurate, also higher velocity and a change to the powder used means it's less temperature sensitive.
>M856 tracer
63gr tracer featuring a very thick copper jacket and an almost entirely red phosphorus core enclosed a the base by a gilding metal cup. Designed to match the trajectory of M855/M855a1, incidentally also closely approximates the trajectory of mk318. Bullet is *absurdly* long and seated very deeply in the case.
>mk318 SOST
63gr jacketed hollowpoint of the OTM style (not designed to expand at the hollowpoint) manufactured for Federal/ATK/Lake City by Speer. Has cannelure, is intended to fragment at cannelure. Only front half of bullet is lead cored, rear half is monolithic gilding metal.

1:7 barrels will do slightly better with 62gr+ loads, but will stabilize and be combat accurate with everything ~45-80gr. The 1:7 twist rate was selected for military use because slower twist rates did poorly with the absurdly long M856 tracer.

Nah, it's ded right now, but there's 2 of them
the "/k/" one that's been abandoned because of the reddit tier meme posting: goyim.red-m.net

And the one that people have migrated to because we play games, and wil usually talk about guns: 104.153.105.2:13140
This one is frequented by myself, nick, qb, and sigbro from time to time, but it's fairly devoid of tripfags now.

I could buy gucci shit for my AR, but I kinda want a PS90, so I think I'll do that.
>>
>>30269818
Pre contract. Nosler Custom Comps have a much lower BC and didn't like to fragment reliably, but were very accurate.

I'm expecting mod3 to be a TMK w/ cannelure. They murder everything else for BC and fragment even more violently and at longer ranges than the SMK w/ cannelure, and I'm sure now that the wars are wound down some politico somewhere's gonna get asspained over the officially expanding mod2.
>>
>>30269797
Whoops, typo.
>replace M195 (grenade blank) with M196 (the actual tracer)

And just for the sake of completion even though it's really not available on the civilian market and b& from import:
>M995
Serious armor piercing round. 52gr tungsten core inside gilding metal jacket.

I havent checked the gas block

I think the barrel is good, its the ar15sport 20'' barrel with gas block pre-installed

Standard rifle buffer, I took out two of the weights and it seemed to help a little bit

This was with wolf polyformance .223.

PMC xtac 5.56 works just fine, as does federal 5.56. I had some problems with tula when I first built the rifle, but after a magazine of federal 5.56, I shot around 100 rounds of tula with only one ftf

Sounds like you're a tad undergassed but it should get better as the rings wear oit a bit.

Chech to make sure the gas block is installed correctly and if it is, you might need to enlarge the port a bit.
>>
>>30271892
Speaking of gas rings, I heard that the bolt is supposed to extend from the carrier with a flick of the wrist. Mine needs a little more effort to extend. Is this because of the new gas rings?

$110 for the custom "deep" engraving, trust info, and cerakote.

Not the best price all told, but the work was well done and turn-around was about a week at the time whereas Ident and the like were at 6+ weeks.

That was when form 1 e-files were taking ~34 days so the time frame was very attractive.

What's the best AR setup that can digest shitty Russian steel case ammo while minimizing FTF, FTE, stuck cases, and maintaining barrel longevity against the bimetal rounds in comparison with traditional brass with copper over lead?

I've heard that it worked better for LMGs because the heavier bullet was able to retain energy for a little bit further, and the accuracy wasn't as important in 10 round bursts.

Literally anything built to at least milspec with a CHF CL'd barrel. An AR that can't handle steelshit isn't an AR worth owning.

Other than having to use the FA more often than with brass, just fine.

Was better for the SAW and really short barrels. Has a higher BC. Has an improved powder composition (m193 was super temp sensitive, dropping below 2500fps from a 20" barrel in sub-zero weather). Does a good bit better at intermediate barrier penetration, though not really by enough to matter simply due to still being 5.56.

So, it did a couple things kinda better than M193, but nothing that couldn't have been done with like an M193A1.

I've got a can in NFA jail at the moment and the dealer called me like 6 hours after the shooting and basically went "You know that 7-9 month wait I told you you were looking at due to 41F? Yeah, triple it now. Want me to cancel the order?"
