Haven't shot the MBT, but I've shot the SSA, SSA-E, SSF, SD-C, SD-E, HSNM-M, HSNM-DMR, and HSNM-SR.
Of them, the HSNM-M has the lightest pull at a measured 2.9lbs total (it's a 2-stage) but the SD-E had the best feel for me (I don't like 2-stages and do like flat triggers) and a pretty good measured pull of 3.2lbs. The HSNM-DMR actually feels heavier than the SD-C. It's similar to the SSF but has a much shorter reset. The HSNM-SR is very niche, has zero overtravel but a ton of takeup in the first stage.
I know triggers are heavily personal preference, but I'd rank them SD-E, HSNM-M, SD-C, SSA-E, HSNM-DMR, SSA, SSF with the HSNM-SR in its own niche category.

Where did I say I would mess around with the 2x, 3x, etc. powers? You shoot 1x up close, any distant targets (past 200-250, size dependent) just slam that bitch to 6x and you're fine. And if you really think BAC is as effective as a proper 1x you're smoking crack. It's been tried over and over and it just isn't as effective as seeing the target and reticle with the same eye. There's a reason they sell the versions with piggyback MRDS.

I use the BAC and it works great with my optic and I don't feel like I need a red dot on top. Once again it's preference, although I have an inkling that many people who want the MRDS on top never learned to shoot a magnified with both eyes open.

That's a totally illogical argument. You realize that 30 years ago your only options were the ACOG and the Aimpoint, because even the Bushnell holosight had yet to be invented? Of course they were used, nobody knew how to make a variable power rugged enough for military use at that time. That being said, by the late 90s Delta had already started doing T&E on variable power scopes. It's not the 80s anymore, why use ACOG when much better value is to be had?

To be honest, if all the competitive shooters thought ACOGs were the heat, and the SF guys thought variable power scopes were best, I would side with the top competitors every single day of the week. When the vast majority of both fields like variable power scopes and the few people who like ACOGs are tripfags, I think it's an open-and-shut case.

That's just not true in every unit, depends on your leadership to decide. Ragnars are notoriously oppressive about following unit SOPs in gear setup, as well. That's true. Aside from stickler units though, if you have a good relationship with your leadership and have an approved optic, all you have to do is ask and they will probably get the go ahead. I know a few people who bought ACOGs for Afghanistan because they were getting issued M68s.
