Should I get this DDI or a mossberg 930?

they are both around the same price.

shotgun appreciation thread.

>>29907371
Bump.

I've also been interested in possibly picking one up
>>
Saigas and Molots have problems being reliable shotguns. Don't get a poorly made american knock off.

>the correct answer is Benelli M4.
>>
I've heard that the guys that try to use saigas/veprs/ak platform shotguns always have issues. I have a mossberg 930 that has run anything from birdshot to 1oz slugs fine from the get go. No malfunctions. I would recommend getting the JM Pro 930, it's well worth the $

Anon who bought my stock, if you see this tell me how it's working out so far

You should try getting laid.
>>
>>29907402
Is this a meme? You're asking OP to spend 2x more on a shotgun which offers no additional benefit other than the Benelli name.
>>
>>29907371

Where the fuck is the charging handle?

How do you load it?
>>
>>29907371
you should save up another $700 and buy a benelli M2

I don't know much about the DDI, but the Mossberg 930 is okay. Not terrible. Not great.

It goes bang when you pull the trigger. It points well. You can get it with an 8 round tube magazine and nearly any barrel length/choke configuration you want.

The action seems overly complicated compared to semi-auto rifles, and cleaning the fucking thing is a giant chore. And it will need cleaning every 200 rounds or so. Also, getting the long tube magazine spring back in is like an act of congress.

If you don't require a semi-auto, both the Remington Wingmaster or Benelli Supernova are quality pump actions for a little more money.
>>
>>29907473
looks like it's on the left. magazines.
>>
For those of us who want an ak shotgun.

Where should we look?

Already own an A5 and a citori o/u
>>
>>29907498
Atlantic or Classic.
>>
>>29907498
saiga 12ga. the only reason it doesnt cycle well is because most ammo is too weak for the action.
>>
Didn't DDI get caught lying about the finish they putt on their AK's?
>>
>>29907402
I think they are made in China from what I've heard
>>
>>29907456
>2x more

not the other guy but an M2 is 2x more, an M4 is closer to 3x more.

and yeah, because you're talking about range toys and hunting guns versus tried and true combat shotguns.

OP needs to decide what he really wants and then come back and ask.
>>
>>29907430
well seeing how I'm married and we just had a tornado warning, I think that's in the bag tonight, so moving on.

he was saying theyre both shitty choices anon. For the money you could build your own ar or buy a wasr ak or get a surplus rifle and 1000 rounds.
>>
>>29907404
The issue has consistently been gassing. Drill out you gas port, put on an adjustable gas block and tweek it if you're shooting buck or bird or what ever or hope ever it performs.

OP you want just a beater semi auto? Get a Stoger. The issue with reliability is fixed by sending the op rod because it's stamped steel that catches the spring which causes ftf issues. Polish it up, there's tons of guides for where, and you get a nice beater for 400.

Mossberg is great but a decent one with the cool kid stuff is more expensive and I prefer the 935.

Stay away from beneli because they're EXACTLY like Bill Ruger, bunch of fudd assholes.
>>
>>29907542
Combat shooty gun.

but I'm in school now so be gentle with that price tag.

I really wanted a semiauto but I feel like maybe a pump is better.

But then begins the great mossberg vs remington debate.

where/when will it all end??
>>
Why has no one recommended a VEPR 12? They Seem to be solid shotguns for $700.
>>
>>29907577
Have an AK, just built an AR, it's shotgun time.
>>
>>29907600
>where/when will it all end??
when Kel Tec makes a semi auto bullpup shotgun.
>>
>>29907588
well, I do hate ruger.
>>
>>29907630
I really don't care for keltec.

I liked they're pmr 30 and the KSG seemed neet but idk, seemed like a lot of plastic for a shotgun.
>>
>>29907666
KSGs are really solid guns, Satan. A lot of police and prisons are getting them now.
>>
>>29907371
Save up and get a VEPR 12
>>
>>29907600
well, like I said, the "AK style" shotguns are nothing but toys, the mossberg is ok at best, and I think you'd being paying $200 more than what they're really worth.

Look, Ive bought a bunch of guns in the past thay I later looked back on and thought, "why did I buy that piece of shit?".

truth is that if you save your money and spend it on something really worthwhile and you will be happier with your purchase.

There are shitloads of manufacturers pumping out tons and tons of garbage, but if you buy something quality you wont have to worry about your gun working when you need it to or spending extra money later to get it to work.

save your money, find a good price on a benelli, and dont look back.
>>
>>29907787
You're sounding a lot like a Benelli shill.
>>
>>29907600
as for a pumps

Id go with either an old police trade in 870 if you can find one, or a new mossberg 500.

I have a shitty remington that i bought that Ive spent a boatload upgrading to get it to function reliably and a mossy, the mossy has always worked flawlessly
>>
>>29907611
because its a range toy that you buy for the fun or cool factor.
>>
>>29907571
>skellington

definitely not me
>>
>>29907859
Im genuinely curious. Whats wrong with the VEPR 12 compared to a traditional pump like an 870 or 500?
>>
>>29907588

>Stay away from beneli because they're EXACTLY like Bill Ruger, bunch of fudd assholes.

and what makes you think this?

you are aware that benelli is owned by beretta, right?

like the same company that that makes the storm, the arx, the M9, you're aware of that, right, anon?
>>
>>29907829
oh yeah?

Id happily shill for benelli.

why dont you email them for me and tell them what a god job im doing.
>>
>>29907895
the reliabilty issues that others pointed out.

I've played with Saigas and Veprs and while I dont think the problem is something that would keep me from buying one if I had the money to toss at it, it still isnt something that I would consider for serious use. I like them, they're fun, and I would use it (defensively) if I had to, but I would chose something else first if given the option.

again I dont think there is anything wrong with the moss 930's, just that they're overpriced.
>>
>>29907571
Seen 12yo girls shoot a 12ga with better stances.
>>
>>29908207
been watching a lot of 12 year olds recently, anon?
>>
>>29907630
High Standard did it decades ago and Standard Manufacturing (no relationship) is doing it again.

It sort of tends to suck.
>>
>>29907630
All the reliability and complications of two memes put together made by a meme company.
>>
>>29908075
I am confused by the 930 being overpriced.

Some SKUs are sub $400 guns. Tackycool mall ninja bullshit is $600.

Get the DDI, the support will be better than a saiga or vepr and the CEO will help you get laid more
>>

Not exactly, but I do have a 13yo daughter that shatters 15/25 clays with a 20ga on the skeet range.

Do you want detachable mags or not? If yes, get the DDI.

well, we're talking about tacticool shotguns.

you posted a link to a hunting gun.

tacticool always comes with a tactitax.
>>

Absolutely tacky.

http://www.sports(removethis)mansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/34591/c/firearms

That said, the SPX guns use the Choate extensions instead of the Nordic used in the JM Pro and it's derivatives.

I have the 930 Rhythm ($620) with Nordic and can say it isn't anything special, just like everything they make.
>>
I'm not buying this shit unless they put an optic rail on the side of the receiver.

I refuse to buy an AK-pattern shotgun unless I can put a PSO-1 scope on it like a huge faggot.
>>
>>29908357
Should you be gassed?

>it's shit because it's made in china

>>
>>29907931
One of the execs commented on why they don't have extended tubes straight from the factory and he said something along the lines of

"You don't NEED more than 4 shots of 12 gauge. If you want something more, go into the military."

Or something like that. They may be owned by Beretta but the guys running the show would rather limit what you get from the factory and force you to buy from Nordic. Though I don't know if the asshats who held that attitude are still there all things considered.

In any case, it's fucking ridiculous to spend 2,500+ dollars on a fucking Semi Auto shotgun.
