Kreiger, Bartlein, Pac-Nor, maybe Shilen or Lilja but those are button rifled instead of cut.
Also, a 1/2-MOA AR is gonna require some work on the upper receiver and bolt face. A good barrel will get you sub-MOA but you hit a lot of work to get down to half MOA.
A good, unlined, cut-rifled stainless barrel will last around 12,000 rounds of peak accuracy with standard commercial-spec .223. I expect less than that with 5.56, but none of the true accuracy barrel makers will do a milspec chamber.

Oh make no mistake, I had a lot of /arg/ time under my belt before I undertook the project. That's why I at least had the sense to start out with an SSA-E. Now, things like handguards and stocks though, I was still pretty stupid about. It took me forever to figure out what to do with that damned MOE stock. The handguard is, well, as you can see, relegated to the budget build now.
I didn't originally set out to build more than one, but I eventually realized that in these troubled times, there are a lot of good reasons for having multiples of a rifle that take the same mags and ammo.

As for the part of your post I could understand, yeah, a lot of factory rifles have parts torqued on way past spec and people have reported going to serious lengths to get off barrel nuts, etc.

As the topic in question is a German military firearm though, there are a metric fuckton of specialized books about Mauser rifles published over the last half century, and many of them command three-digit priceranges. The one I linked is a pretty good place to start, though.
Here's the shit I had to put up with for genuinely good info on the C-96. Thank fuck Breathed and Schroeder's "System Mauser" only retails for around $75.
