I'm looking for a cheap, lightweight/pencil profile .300 Blackout barrel that is 16" long with a pistol length gas port, and which is either chrome lined or melonite/QPQ/Magic Fairy Dusted.

Anyone have any leads?

Last time I needed a barrel some /k/ommando found me a link to exactly what I wanted in 10minutes flat.

Why pistol length and not carbine length? This barrel will see quadruple-duty with subs and supersonics, with and without a suppressor. I can more-easily tune down the gas with an adjustable gas block on the pistol-length system rather than play with gas port sizes. My current 16" .300 Carbine Length will not reliable cycle subsonics unsuppressed.

This is the closest I can find for a non-insane price. It's not light profile, but ADCO could probably turn this down and refinish it cheaper than buying a more spendy barrel.

Why? Just build an AR pistol or file a stamp

Realizing this doesn't answer your question, cheap and .300blk don't really go together. Particularly out of a 16" barrel, there is literally no reason for this except suppression which isn't cheap either.

OP here.

I have an MGI Hydra Upper that allows me to quickly change barrels. I also have a SBR stamp for my lower, ergo I also have 8" .300 and 11" 5.56 barrel assemblies. I want matching 16" Barrels for legal and hunting related reasons. Many jurisdictions and/or company don't like SBRs.

5.56 out of a 16 inch beats a 300 out of a 16 inch

Sorry, I don't feel like dropping $500 on a barrel that I will only occasionally use, especially when I already have a short .300 barrel on hand. I could go upwards of $200, but only if it more closely matched my requirements (i.e. light profile).

What the fuck does "kys" even mean?

Also, carbine length gas on a 16" .300 barrel will generally not reliably cycle unsuppressed subsonics (a minor point). I'd rather keep my options open by using an adjustable gas block and a pistol gas system. The alternative would be to open up the gas port on a carbine length gas system and use an adjustable gas block.

What about using a linear compensator like the Flaming Pig to increase back pressure to try and cycle the subsonics?
