The ETS mags I ordered came in, and I'm trying out the mini angled grip BCM makes. Not completely sold on it yet, but maybe after some more fondling I'll find the g-spot again and love it.
ETS followers are liquid smooth. I thought Pmag followers were slick, but they don't even come close to the ones in these. The coupling system is neat, but very easy to decouple with a twist. I'm assuming that's the point, but we'll see if they come loose after some range shooting tomorrow. I still like my Pmags better, right now, but we'll see after some use if these are worth the extra cash they're retailing for.

AR noob here starting to build things as they get delivered. I have the barrel and gas block/tube so far and installed the block & tube. I watched a lot of videos and lined the barrel port up with a mark and used loctite on the set screws. 2 questions though.
Does the roll pin have to be pressed in completely flush? Mine has about a 1/32" sticking out one side and I feel like I'm only mushrooming the head when trying to get it in further.
Is there a way to tell if the gas port in the barrel is lined up perfectly with the block? Does it matter much?

It will be a challenge. I finally got enough range of motion back from a really bad scapula break to actually shoot a bow again (been stuck with a crossbow for 7 years, fuck paying $300+ for a bowfishing conversion for that) and I've never actually done it.

So far, I've tried out the Gen 2 and 3 Pmag, Hexmag, Opaque Lancer, Clear Lancer, USGI, Mako USGI Steel, and currently trying out the ETS mags.
So far,
Pmag Gen 3 = Lancer Opaque > Pmag Gen 2 > Lancer Clear > USGI > Hexmag.
ETS is to be determined. The body near the feed-lips is very, very flexible, to where only a moderate amount of pressure can allow me to actually make the sides touch. The base and middle of the mag is far more sturdy though. Clearly, not at all brittle, but raises concerns to feed-lip failure at low round counts.
The base plate is very eye-roll inducing. Other than that, the mag is fine. The follower is buttery smooth. Far more smooth than any Pmag follower, which I already considered pretty fucking smooth.
Still have to actually go shoot with it, but nothing on it screams out to me as potentially bad, save for how easy it is to sneak in 31 rounds. And with how the follower is reversed(hump is on left side), this could possibly screw with someone and cause them to overload the mag. It's incredibly easy to view your round count by looking at the spine, however.
I already like them better than Hexmags, though.

Anyone have an experience with a Rausch Sports handguard? I'm getting ready to start gathering parts for a 8" 300 AAC build and im looking for a 7" slim handguard like the Daniel defence slim rail, which they don't make in 7".
The only issue I have is the 6 screws they use to attatch the handguard to the barrel nut. I've seen a few handguards like that and I'm sure it's fine, but it just seems like it wouldn't be very sturdy.
I don't mind spending more money if anyone has suggestions for 7" handguards, but I really like low diameter handguards for some reason.
