Japan’s stealth fighter takes maiden flight

Better than the F-22.
>>
>>29696726
Looks like shit. PAK FA and J-31 is more stealthy.
>>
>>29696756
How can you tell, Chang? You keeping an eye on them radars or are you just trying to earn 50 cents?
>>
Why are the wings so small? Why are the engines exposed?
>>
its clearly not stealth at all
>>
GANBATTE!
>>
For those not aware; it's not a real stealth fighter, it's a technology demonstrator (it's also really tiny; smaller than an F-16).

Their real stealth fighter will be the F-3 (a sort of 5+ gen or potentially even '6th' gen) which is expected to enter production around 2030. The F-3 is expected to look considerably different to the ATD-X.
>>
The fuck is up with its engines?

Also it looks about as stealthy as the Chinese abomination.
>>
>>29696791
Extreme thrust vectoring like the X-31:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eaGTU8BD7A
>>
Japan flies the world's first stealthy gen trainer jet!
>>
>>29696796
These TVC engines were deemed to be extremely unstealthy as well.
>>
>>29696796
>Thrust vectoring
>Using paddles to direct the air out of the engine

Literal WW2 tier, Von Braun developed that technology to controll his V2 missiles.

Today thrust vectoring is done by movable engine exhaust nozzles.
>>
>>29696825
It is, but those systems are also extremely heavy; nozzles like on the F-22 can add a few thousand pounds of weight.

>>29696819
The paddles design is less stealthy than (eg) the F-22's, but it's more stealthy than a conventional nozzle like that of a Su-30MKI or Su-35's. The paddles can always be locked into place as well.
>>
>>29696819
>>29696825
I love when people don't know a single fucking thing about what they are talking.

Using CFC paddels for TVC provides one with real 3D vectoring and while being lightweight.
>>
>>29696842
>but those systems are also extremely heavy

And three giant paddles our of heavy and durable materials plus the machinery to move them are not?
>>
>>29696848
No, read more books. CFC paddles are shit.
>>
>>29696842
(samefag here)
Also, when I talk about it's stealthiness, I'm talking about a final-design paddle; the ones being used in OP's pic are obviously shitty on radar due to exposed mechanics; the whole aircraft would be; it's only a tech demo. Slap an outer cover onto the paddles though and you have things that have aligned edges / shaping and which don't reflect much sideways or rearward.
>>
>>29696849
Comparatively? No they're not.

>>29696854
Care to explain then?
>>
>exposed

it's like I'm here only surrounded by idiots.

The technolgy is the fucking same as on the F-22 only that it provides 3D TVC instead of 2D.
They are only visible because the Shinshin is a fucking technolgy demonstrator and integrating such engines with 3D TVC into a stealth airframe is something that will happen with the F-3.
>>
>>29696726
>Paywall

what the fuck OP? You know better than that
>>
>>29696756
>Body Fully covered
>Saw nozzles
>the aircraft is small
>No batshit crazy design
and
>PAK FA and J-31 is more stealthy.
Can't tell if just fishing for replies, or a dumb fagget
>>
>>29696726
This is a tech demo right? More X-35 than F-35
>>
>>29697004

Yes that's why it's so small and obviously has no room for weapons
>>
>>29696726
It has a sexy little booty on it.
>>
>>29697004
>>29697023

it's also in the name(ATD: Advanced Technology Demonstrator)?

Probably just for the test flights, I'm assuming those panels are for thrust vectoring
>>
>>29698458
Yeah there's no way those paddles will carry over to a production aircraft. Without a real nozzle, it'd be damn near impossible to go supersonic. Just look at the thrust-vectoring experiments NASA did with an F-18.

Main reason this plane exists is because we won't sell them F-22s.

Yet supposedly they are going to sell F-22s to Israel. To get funding to restart the production. Which you know is just going to end up with Israel selling the all the F-22 information to China and Russia. Because fuck those goyim Americans.

Don't know why you would want a technology demonstrator without weapons bays, even if they were dummies.

Extremely important on determining shape and design.
>>
>>29699126
>Yet supposedly they are going to sell F-22s to Israel.

No, the entire reason F-22's are banned from export is because it was politically impossible to ban export to just Israel after Israel sold F-16 tech to China.
>>
>>29700485
>it was politically impossible to ban export to just Israel

It wouldn't be specifically banning named countries, it would have been specifically naming countries that were allowed for it to be exported to, like the UK. Which was considered.
>>
>>29696726
It is so tiny
>>
>>29700485

>>

>>29700350
It literally would be a bigger fuck you to China if they bought the 35 instead, but Nips like to keep know-how domestic.
>>
>>29701112
Japan is buying F-35s though. As well as making this thing. They are covering the bases to communicate that China can't just walk all over them like they do Phillipines, Malaydia etc.
>>
>>29701096
>>29701112
They sold their F-16 version, the Lavi to China. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IAI_Lavi
They might deny it, but they did. Along with a host of other shit, ranging from patriots to HAWKs and RADAR's.
Israel is shit tier when it comes to techonology transfers.

I've read that Worst Korea is working on a domestic 5th gen fighter too. I wonder if there is any chance they'd collaborate with Japan on the F-3. They'd have to put pragmatism before history, and that seems doubtful.

Korea and Japan hate each other so much that they would design their 5th gens to defeat each other in the first place.

Sorry, Murrica. But because you never could make the Japanese apologize for their crimes and helped them to build up their entire modern country and bureaucracy ontop the old Imperial facist regime, along with the criminals still in charge of modern Japan through their family-lines, South Korea will never get into an alliance with the Japanese just to cuck China, another victim of Japanese past aggression and current revisionism.

SK-Japan alliance against China will never happen, and you have noone to blame than yourself because you were fucking greedy selfish bastards who didnt punish the people who deserved it and now force the victims to marry the unrependent murderers of their own people, again just for your own selfish purposes.
>>

If america cucked japan like they did with germany there would be like 15 millions malaysian and pakistani in tokyo right now so no, thank you.
>>
>>29704086
Oh wow, when did chinese and koreans start interbreeding?
>>
>>29704179
Taking in immigrants would be good for Japan. Their demographic future is pretty bleak - Japan's population is expected to drop 50% by 2060.
>>
>>29704219
Japan doesn't need immigrants. A declining population isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially when you have 70 million people crammed into an area the size of California and filled with mountains.
>>
>>29704219

When you are a leading country in automation innovation with an homogeneous population with declining birthrate that literally doesn't know what civil unrest is you need:

>1) To smartly counterbalance your declining workforce with the job loss created by automation just like Japan is currently doing
>2) Takes dozens of millions of kebabs and dindus and tell every native citizen he is an imperialist nankin rapist and a privileged cis-yellow scum

Geez, what a difficult choice.
>>
>>29704262
120 million people

the usable land area is only the size of Louisiana. the rest is too mountainous to be of use.
>>
>>29704815
>Japan won't invent mountain skyscrapers

>>
>>29704761
This is truth. Truth that our faggotized west will only realise after it's too late.

Furthermore their experiments with foreign labour have resulted in the majority of the crime, trouble and unrest. Namely Koreans, Iranians, Chinese, and Nigerians.

Flips and Indonesian domestic works seem harmless enough.

Time and again, Israel has done technology transfers of American technology to other, hostile states. Israel's lobby in the US is strong enough that they couldn't ban the Raptor's export to Israel by name, so they banned it for everyone. For being an ostensible ally, Israel has a long and established history of acting like the United States is an enemy; personally, I'm rather tired of it.

How is the Lavi a F-16 if the aerodynamical layout it completly different. It uses a different engine and don't share any similiarities in the avionics department?

People also forget that despite Yakuza activity being crime, they also perform important jobs, such as keeping the peace, and preventing establishment of foreign criminal elements.

The Yakuza and police long had a symbiotic arrangment, with the population able to live free of fear in between. Not so much these days, with a new generation of leaders on both sides unable to maintain this.

>>
>>29708234
Hello there Benjamin GoldBergStein!
>>
>>29700485
No, the entire reason F-22's are banned for export is because at the time, the J-20 and PAK-FA weren't on the scope yet and weren't expected to fly for another 5-10 years.

When they did appear, Gates had cut its funding / killed the F-22 and any hope of exporting it (which requires R&D work to make it's software exportable / not so easy to access) fell by the wayside. The Israelis are getting the F-35, which has even more advanced tech, but it's been built from the ground-up to comply with ITAR and make it practically impossible to reverse-engineer properly.

I don't know what definition of ally people are using when they claim Israel is one, let alone our greatest ally.

>ally
>noun
>noun: ally; plural noun: allies
>1.
>a state formally cooperating with another for a military or other purpose, typically by treaty.
a person or organization that cooperates with or helps another in a particular activity.
>"he was forced to dismiss his closest political ally"
>"close political allies"
>a group of nations taking military action together, in particular the countries that fought with the US in World War I and World War II.
>plural noun: Allies; plural noun: the Allies

I don't recall Israel ever doing anything that fits any of that.

On the other hand,
>enemy
>noun
>noun: enemy; plural noun: enemies
>a person who is actively opposed or hostile to someone or something.
>a hostile nation or its armed forces or citizens, especially in time of war.
>noun: the enemy
>"the enemy shot down four helicopters"
>a thing that harms or weakens something else.
>"routine is the enemy of art"
fits pretty well.
