Can we have a thread on motorcycle cavalry/Recce/etc? Specifically WWII types on those Royal Enfield bikes? I'm interested in the guns, the uniforms, the gear, etc. for reference.

/k/ar thread? /k/ar thread.
What is the first step to "bullet-proofing" something?
I want to make a bullet-proof golf cart for use as a judge's vehicle on a field trial course and maybe used for transportation to distant targets on shooting range.
Highest caliber's allowed are .308 win and other .30 cal rifles. No .50 bmg. Also it would see maybe an occasional slug from some idiot on the field trial course.

It's been finished and has been in use with spec ops forces; we won't find out they exist until a mission to kill ISIS leader Mohammed ibn-Abdul ibn-Akmed al-Mufasa bin-Al'abalah Almaeiz goes wrong and some are reported to have been destroyed while US forces escapeb by riding bitch with the body.

So hear me out,
what if we take a game with the proper engine, like the next iteration of Tony Hawk, and have a whole side-mission game that is a Dispatch Rider during WWII?
Crazy war-torn courses, threat of enemy attack, OLIVE DRAB paint schemes with maybe small personal touches. Better finish the course before the time limit if you want your unit to live.
If we could do all this inside a military-sim instead, even better.
Dragons portes with Gnome-Rhone XA-2 bikes.
That convoy is from the Saumur tank museum, so I expect them to be historically accurate.
FN AS24 (a trike)
Up to 4 soldiers and 4 ss-11 ATGMs ready to fire in the back.

Welbike
106mm recoiless rifle Vespa.
It's not supposed to be fired when it's in this position. You're supposed to get the gun out of the bike and affix it to the tripod beforehand.

These were actually used by the French Foreign Legion in Vietnam with some success.
>>28592557
Which is something, considering the terrain and brutality of french airborne operations in Vietnam.

Aaaand, I have to learn how to quote again.
>>28592571
Still a Cushman, used by the french general Gilles in Vietnam during operation Castor.
The french tried a ton of models for their paratroopers during the Indochina and Algeria wars.
Always loved it when people took sport bikes off road.

never rode one but ive done a lot of research, theyre a pretty entry level bike, however its impossible to beat their price point.
i might buy one this year, if i was richer id rather get a ural with a sidecar though. ill probably just get a enfield with a trailer.
>>28596939
They used to make one full blown mil style. Leather saddle bags and all.

I remember a fantastic mod for Battlefield 2, Nations at War. There was a map called Wacky Races, where you and a partner (Engineers only) rode either bikes, quads (that played pretty much the same as the BF3 ones, but predates it by many years), the A-Team van, or a choice of classic muscle and sports cars, and ripped around a dirt track, constantly jostling for first as your partner alternated between shooting and repairs. It was like Mad Max meets Tacticool.
>>28596905
OP here, sat on one at the local bike show yesterday, which is why I made the thread. I'm going to take one for a test ride come spring, and if I like it, gonna buy one and slut it up into as accurate a replica of a dispatch bike as I can. I was hoping some Anons had some good reference photos or links on Dispatch REs. What the weapons, bags/bike setup, etc. was, specifically Canadian or other Commonwealth models.
>Tfw I can legally ride with a NR gun on the bike
Too bad it's only a 500, but that's fine.

Something like this in the middle east would really help out our army boys from being blown to bits.
>faster that a humvee
>cheaper
>more maneuverable
>Less likely to hit an ied
Only concern would be well trained enemy snipers. Maybe a supply truck or med team would need to follow up to be safe. Hell, we could even have some of the bikes come with sidecarts. Said carts could have anti heli/tank/infantry guns mounted. Whatever is needed.
I love having an imagination /k/
