G26 g4. Close to 20 rounds put through it so far.

Thinking on getting a 19.
>>
>>28077956
Yeah, it's extremely simple. If you don't already know how to detail strip the gun, then you'll need to know how to do that, obviously.

Beyond that, you just polish a few surfaces on the trigger bar, firing pin safety, connector, and striker face to a mirror sheen. Most people recommend you do it by hand since removing material can fuck up the function of the gun, but a lot of people go at it with a dremel just fine. Basically, you're just sort of wearing the gun in immediately. Everything you polish is shit that would normally get smoothed out with a lot of firing anyway. The end result is a much nicer, smoother trigger. It's not going to make your a competition shooter, but it does make the trigger a lot nicer.

>>28077995
This is a good guide, but it omits a few areas that I personally like to polish.

In total, I polish:
-The firing pin safety surface (covered in the video, but I also polish up the beveled edge a bit. if you're confident with a dremel, a lot of people round those edges out, which is something you see on a lot of aftermarket firing pin safeties)
-The top of the trigger bar that interfaces with the firing pin safety (covered in the video, but I also like to polish the little "centering bump" on the side. this isn't present on Gen 3s, and I don't think it's present on G43s)
-The top of the cruciform (and the rearmost edge of the cruciform where it ACTUALLY interfaces with the firing pin face. this isn't really covered in the video, but it helps a lot)
-The face of the trigger bar that interfaces with the connector (covered in the video. I also polish out the top edge of the trigger bar in this area)
-The face of the connector where it interfaces with the trigger bar (covered in the video. use a qtip to really get under that ridge. also, not covered in the video, but I recommend to polish the edge on the ridge.)
-The striker face (polish the edge here, too).

Here is my professional, detailed, beautiful guide that I totally didn't throw together in MS paint in a few seconds.

I included an image of an aftermarket firing pin safety if you want to dick around with rounding it out. Oh, and some people like to polish the outside of the trigger bar where it rubs against the frame, but I don't think most people bother with that.

>>28078175
That's actually pretty sexy.

I actually going to look into chroming firearms once I have a good income again, I polished two of my cheapest yet durable firearms and learned a lot from the experience. The tinifer process for glocks is amazing, it make them very resilient to rust even when polished but I don't recommend it on firearms that have not been thru such an extreme process.

Not him, but because it looks rad.

You can actually do it yourself very easily with a white crayon and a microfiber cloth. Just color it in, then buff the surface until you're left with nice white lettering.

Here it is on my G19 Gen 4. Doesn't look that great because >shitcamera, but I love how white lettering on Glocks looks. It looks really fucking nice on mags as well, but the crayon method doesn't seem to work as nice on the magazines.

On an unrelated note, getting a Zev Ultimate kit for this soon. I'm fuckin' hype. Anyone have any experience with those?
>>
Any 22 Bros here? Would it be worth getting a 9mm barrel for range practice? Is 9mm cheaper enough?
>>
>>28078249
Yeah man, I just love the cheesy 80's gangster look of chromed firearms. Honestly, Glocks with grey/silver slides in general look pretty cool. I also love the look of a Glock with a stainless barrel. That look is burned into my mind from CS:S.
>>
>>28078293
I've also heard of people using white nail polish, though I'm not sure if just the polish brush is precise enough to get in the lettering without having to wipe away the excess, but that isn't too hard either and there's always nail polish remover.
>>
Told myself I could get a new gun when I get 10k in the bank. Only 1k away from the goal and I'm thinking getting a G19. I'm a Califag, so magazine cap doesn't really matter to me, so I'm tempted to not go 9mm.

I used nail polish. You put on a bunch and wipe the excess off with ISO then re oil if you stripped a metallic part
>>
>>28078345
Yeah, I've heard of people using nail polish, too. What I like about crayon is that it's pretty durable and stays in there pretty well, but it's also piss easy to remove with a toothpick if you want to try something different.

That said, I am considering nail polish for the magazines. The problem with crayons seems to be that the grooves just aren't deep enough/the polymer doesn't retain the wax well enough, so when you go to buff off the excess, you invariably end up buffing away some of the lettering as well. It's really hard to get it to look good.

>>28078558
Nice, I like it. I might eventually get an LWD threaded barrel, and if I do, I'm definitely going stainless.

Why does everyone prop their pistols up for photos using a pencil/bullet/other object directly pressing against the trigger. That seems dangerous and unnecessary seeing how triggers work...

Main reason I got my Glock is for CC, in general I just liked how minimal the whole gun is and the reputation and aftermarket is solid. However, for a larger handgun, I'd definitely be up for exploring other manufacturers. Both the Steyr and the PPQ have always had solid reputations from what I hear, I haven't heard anyone that owns one say anything but praise. The Steyr sights seem pretty neat too.

I have this weird quirk about not buying anything I perceive as spic/nigger tier (not in terms of quality, but in terms of popularity in those cultures).

For example I wouldn't want to buy an Impala or a 50's Mercury because I don't like what spics do to them and their general association with the cars.

As I know objectively that Glocks are quality, affordable guns, I really need some help mentally detaching them from "Ay yo this muh Glawck muh fugguh" niggers so that I can purchase one for myself without it disturbing my autism. Anyone have any advice?

Honestly I think the association comes from the fact that gang bangers call any handgun a "Glock" when more often than not you'll see them with Hi-Points and random saturday night specials. True Glocks have a really decent competition following and have a very strong association with law enforcement as well

If you feel reassured with more firepower, carry it with a 15rd mag but with finger grip extension thing slipped on there... but if I had a g26, I'd just carry it 10+1 with a 15 rounder in my pocket to be honest family

I have a G19 and am glad I chose it. Every once in a while I consider grabbing a G26. But I already have enough 9mm carry pistols.

I don't currently carry because I'm in college which is a big no-no and also because I work in a government building which is an even bigger no-no.

Lots of tools, research, mistakes, and time. The general of it is that you are smoothing out the steel so that light is not diffused by the un-even surface and instead is reflected back. Fuck even trying to type out the number of steps and things to do in order is a pain. There is so much shit to do and to keep in mind while you work on it. I'm considering selling my CZ P-07 and buying either a G17 or G19. The gun will mainly be used for target shooting and occasionally concealed carry. I want to know which gun would be more suitable, the 17 looks better for target and home defense type use, while the 19 seems to be better for concealment, how difficult would it be to conceal a 17. I've held a 19 at a gunshop and liked it, but something a bit bigger would also be nice, I've never handled a 17. Also i reload 9mm rounds for my CZ, I load full copper jacket bullets, would it be suitable to shoot in a glock, I've heard you should avoid cast lead bullets, but have never heard anything about FMJ.

The gen 3 lock grips hurt my hands after firing it for too long. Does anyone have experience sanding the grips on their gen 3? I would use something to cover the grip, but my hands are very small and I don't think I could handle a wider grip.

That thing is uglier than the normal glock

You don't understand, that's quite the accomplishment. Getting 20 rounds through a Glock without it exploding is no mean feat.

Here. I know full and well that wax isn't the most long-term, durable way to fill in your lettering, and that's partly why I did it. I wasn't sure if I'd like the way the white lettering looked, so I wanted something that was extremely easy to remove.

That being said, I haven't run it through an extreme battery of fire yet or anything, but I've gotten the gun rather toasty a few times and the wax hasn't melted yet.
