Uh, when's the last time you were in Japan...?

Also among the big three I'd rank 7 higher because of their decent selection of microwavable snacks and cheap 7 brand beer, and Family Mart higher because of Family Chicken. Lawson doesn't really have as much going for it imo, and L Chicken loses to Family Chicken. I agree with the rest though.

>>Natural Lawson
>Support for Your "Healthy, Beautiful and Comfortable" Lifestyle by Your Side

Natural Lawson stores, with the catch phrase "Daily and surely," are located in business districts of large cities to cater to the large number of working women. They offer healthy, low-calorie delicatessen items and boxed lunches, sweets made from select ingredients, detergents and cosmetics made from natural materials, and other products that can be used with peace of mind. Natural Lawson stores have won a following among health-conscious men as well as women. (90 stores as of Feb. 2011)

seriously, i spent 56 days on the road biking from south to north of japan, lived off cobini food probably for two of my four or so meals a day, and i found circle k chains to be the best from food selection (mini bakery nigga???) to store design (actual counters to sit at and eat, complimentary usb ports so I could charge my phone instead of jacking power from outside the conbinis like a nigga??), but maybe this isn't as widely recognized due to availability compared to other chains such as Lawson and 711?

pic related, one of my meals from my journal

Why is Japanese konbini food so cheap yet delicious looking? I bet they are so disappointed when they visit Burgerland.

shits cash man, they've just figured out how to produce shit at the scale they sell to the millions everyday at those price points

conbinis are literally everywhere and have everything you ever want, people live off of that shit for real. talking in addition to food, liquor, porn mags, coffee, and all the normal convenience store type things, talking about tshirts and underwear and all sortsa toiletries

japs got it good in the city man

>Family Mart
>anything other than dead last

Literally the most jew-combini ever
>1/3 higher than every other combini
>shitty selection
>jewy onigiri with a pea amount of fillings
>hirers even potato-ier subhumans somehow

Also Lawson Store 100 is the king, they stock the surplus from other Lawsons that needs liquidating and are basically pricing it all at 100 yen just to get rid of it before expiring. Great way to get wasted on 9% Chuhai for less than 400yen

also which Karaagekun is best?

チーズ&オニオンブレッド clearly.

how is the situation regarding konbini in general?
Are they comming along fine?
Do they struggle against big retailers/supermarkets?
how popular are they?

I've heard a lot of good things about them, how they'll be fine for the next few decades.

Its really sad, pretty much anywhere in the west those small corner shops are extinct already... I miss some of them.
>>
>>14478112
konbini are doing fine, but they literally have only convenience going for them, particularly being open 24 hours and being one stop for all your living needs if you so choose

once youve been here a bit longer you start appreciating how much cheaper going to the "right" places to get specific things are. 105 yen onigiri are the best thing ever till you start walking out of the way to you local supermarket and buy them for 50 yen, same goes for all prepared food.

snacks and candy are best bought at a 100 yen shop of which there are usually plenty

baked goods and bread are better quality and cheaper at a bakery

The unique things konbini have going for them are ticket kiosks, bill-pay, shipment pickup, internet promotional tie-ins, and the seasonal hot food kept at the counter. They also tend to be spread out as efficently as possible so that the average person can walk there in 15 minutes or less.

So yeah, as long as konbini keep doing what they do best they will be just fine, but Japs are careful not to buy all their shit there cause they know its pricier.
>>
>>14477937
cheese, obviously.
>>
>>14478151
hmmm. thats good to hear.
Its funny, of course japan has its own problems, but most of the stuff that I miss in europe, or went extinct in the past years are still going stong in japan.

Hope they keep it up.
I hate all this monopolization.

I don't know why you'd put Natural Lawson below anything, since if it is big enough, it generally has everything a normal conbini has but extra stuff. The baked goods and sandwiches at Natural Lawson are pricier but better than the other places.

The typical NL doesn't have as much "normal" stuff as the other places, but then why would it be above 7/11.

Anyway all the 7/11 around me are staffed with Chinese and sometimes the dreaded Indian employee. Always leave then go to a famima or something instead if I see one.
