>tfw you'll never live in Vancouver, Canada

It feels so fucking bad. Most beautiful city i've ever seen. So many trees and parks even near the high rises. It's manages to find the perfect harmony between nature and technology. The outer city is even more serene and the weather is all mild year around. I'd give anything to live there ;_;

I've never heard ANYONE call Vancouver beautiful before. The surrounding is beautiful, but the city itself is SO fucking ugly. That picture you posted is ugly, those buildings are nasty looking. i've never seen a north american city with worse architecture.
>>
>>58288162
>I've never heard ANYONE call Vancouver beautiful before.

Maybe you're just not well informed enough. I mean look at all that green space! Or just hop on to google maps and take a "walk" inside the city. It looks clean and very livable, almost futuristic. It even btfo's a lot of European cities - which to me is a huge deal.

>i've never seen a north american city with worse architecture.
You might want to look up Jew York. or L.A. Or pretty much any big U.S city except for Washington and San Fransisco.

lolwut. New York has amazing architecture and LA has some interesting buildings as well. Vancouver has shit architecture. You have no idea what you're talking about.
>>
>>58290214
I think the point the hungarian is trying to make is that the city is livable which isn't wrong. The city is designed to serve its residents, it is boring looking and kind of looks like a shitty sim city simulation, but that doesn't always come with negatives, as he said it has plenty of parks, cycling paths, buildings are surrounded by greenery everywhere. You can't find this in NYC or LA despite having good architecture, though LA is not so much.

Anon. Us Europeans aren't meant to live in weather like that. We're a fragile species that need temperate, oceanic, mild mediterrean climates, preferably with four seasons and below 35-30 celsius degree summers.

I'm kinda dubious about that. I think we're just general Eastern Euros who speak a meme language. Austrians are definitely more refined and interesting imo.
>Hungary has cooler buildings and landscapes
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I generally like European cities, but Budapest and most Hungarian cities are falling the fuck apart, due to lack of funds and - no offense - latin american tier corruption. Literally every single politician is stealing money. We have more in common than you'd think.
>>
>>58293843
I can't make you think otherwise.

But if i had to choose between Vancouver and Budapest i'd pick Buda.

Hungarian cinema has taught me you guys live drowned in depression and misanthropic selfhatred so i guess finding a magyar who loves his country is hard.

Yours is not a meme language. A meme langauge is english and french, bro.

We're in fact proudly amongst the first 20 countries in the world for the highest suicide rates. 12th, for men. I think we used to be amongst the first 5 for a while, but this last couple of years things had improved for some reason. I almost killed myself twice too, but chickened out in the end.

Also, how come you watch Hungarian cinema? Do you watch the good stuff (pre-1940), or contemporary ones?

Why does a big city have to be something to fantasize about? The municipal government and cultural influence decides how much there is to do. In my experience, many American cities just don't have any community. Everyone has a group of 4-5 friends and those circles are scared of each other and never do anything. It's pathetic, unhappiness and eternal complaining.

The worst city I've been to was Dallas. It's like the Winnipeg of Canada. The most fun American City has to be a toss up between Detroit, or Seattle. Black people know how to fucking party.

Dude, I moved there from Ontario and holy fuck, you have no idea how good you have it. Lived there for 2 years and moved back to Ontario for school. I have full intentions on being back. For a sense of outdoor community, it's amazing. Always people on hikes, hunting, canoeing or whatever. I was 14 km North of Pinecone burk and managed for find a German couple canoeing in the middle of fucking nowhere. The international community is dope. You can be downtown and drive 20 minutes into North Van and go for a hike and over look the city. Not many places can you do that. Try the Maritime provinces lol.

No. There are entirely French restaurants where servers won't go to your table until you attempt to speak French. Menus in French. Even in places like New Brunswick, its not really that uncommon.
Fuck, any international community will have English with their Native language on menus if they are popular enough. I've been to a place in North Van where the menu was entirely Farcy.
Chinese restaurants have it to, but the servers aren't as cunty as the French. They will speak English to you and try to explain what the ingredients are in the picture you point at on the menu. In my experience, Id take Chinese over the French anyday. Friendlier with better intent, they just come from an eviscerated culture. Perspective is everything, the French refuse to acknowledge it.

This, as funny as it sounds Asians integrate better than French do. I know man, I've talked to countless people that have been there, and tried to speak some french and soon as they found out you're from Canada they turn sour. Fuck... I was traveling in Eastern Europe and barely knew any words and when I tried to speak their langauges they were ecstatic, french people are just too elitist about their language and culture. Yeah we get it, you're the best at everything, fuck off please.

canadians you're cool people. Last year I had the opportunity to study at the red river college in Winnipeg, I went through all the process, got accepted, but then the government asked me to show them proof of funds (around 25k loonies in total) so I had to stop the process. If I resume the process, I'd need to take a loan, but my concern is that I'm not sure if it's worth it or not. Should I take a loan and live in debt for the next years but living in canada or stay in my country?

Old dogs have a hard time learning new tricks. You move to China in your 60's and try to learn a new language. It's hard. That's why they rely on their kids to sort everything out. It's not as if they are REFUSING to learn the language.
English is shitty and illogical and their children have been studying it for 12+ years.

Depends on the course your going to take.
Just because you have a Degree, doesn't mean it is useful.
If you take 25k loan out with a Arts Degree, you fucked up
If you take a 25k loan out and get a Degree or any qualification that lets you be self employed; plumbing, carpentry, millwright, nursing, electrician. THEN it's worth it.
If you get a big BA degree, it doesn't mean much to employers here in Canada, idk about in Colombia.

Well you could come here and study, get a job lined up before you graduate and become a permanent resident, then eventually citizenship if you choose so. Winnipeg's a shithole by Canada's standards but probably not so with Colombia's standards. Come on up bud, and bring some QT latinas with you ;)

>like this one?

I live in a nice neighborhood, so that's not an issue. I was thinking about studying something related to business, marketing and social media,

My intention is to study and work part time in winnipeg, then once I graduate move to a less shittier place, perhaphs Calgary. Thanks for your advice guys! Guess I'll resume the process next year, I'll need to save some money first.
