Why do communist governments fail in South America?
1. Lack of support from a big country - the newly established regimes have felt themselves much better when there was financial and diplomatic aid from USSR
2. Foreign pressure. Obvious support of the opposition by americans and businessmen. It can have different froms from propaganda to a military coupe.
3. Worldwide bad image of communism. Nobody remebers how bad was life during Batista regime, yet everybody knows how "bad" is life on Cuba, thanks to foreign cinema. It's not really good, but it's better than in Bangladesh or other periphery countries, where children work for food or something like that.
