If I can only afford one property, probably Colorado Springs. If I can afford multiple properties, probably Denver with a second place to rent out and register my cars at in Colorado Springs. This is assuming that I want to live centrally. I think Lincoln NE is the place where all corners of the lower 48 (Seattle, San Diego, Miami, Boston) are the most similar distances away, but no one wants to live in fucking Lincoln, and the Colorado Front Range is the closest region that really draws my attention, both in terms of life quality and wealth and in terms of surroundings and activities. There are a few alternatives if I ever realize that a central location isn't as important as I think it is, but I'd have to weigh them up carefully before making a decision.

It's actually awesome. I worked as a ski instructor for a local resort in Idaho for two years as a teenager in high school. Was good money, but also got a season pass and everything.

I can, I'm from a place as sunny as Anchorage after all. Choosing the ideal place in the US is a terrible task for climate alone because most of them are either too warm in the winter, too cold in the winter, too dry in general, too humid in general or too hot in the summer. Seattle and Boston are the places that come closest to German climate, and even Boston is a stretch.
