As to Croatia, I only agree with those certain Hungarians in respect to that Eastern lunge of the Croatia blotch in general that South of Budapest and closer to it. The Dalmatian coastal part of Croatia, is Dalmatia and I ingest little of the histories of Hungary that feature Hungarians operating a fleet out of there.

Romania was two river-lands of/beside two separate rivers. Those two lands should have been independent, and then they can all sit with eachother together in the European Union.

Our bureaucrats have labored with a great labor to play up what you said and to play down the Austrian culture/identity and the Hungarian alike in this whole region.
The underlying problem is that Austrians are deemed liable to ally with Germany, as they did in WWI not to mention before stopping the old Turkish wave into Europe.

Independent from what? Wallachia and Moldova united, and fought off Ottomans for independence. Transylvania voted to be part of romania: Everyone except the hungarian minority in it voted to be part of the Old Kingdom. Basarabia did the same when they seceded from the SU.

You have a major reference to a secession referendum here, and I do not think that is just you I think relevant policy makers might rely on that reference too. Please accept, that there may exist formal weaknesses to the application of public voting as to territorial changes. In particular when it comes following the heels of a war, and guess what the side that lost the war also "lost the vote" this is just not the same as the regular election process.

In the march against the Ottoman Empire though they welcomed eachother's company, and then looked up and saw a third column was likewise marching alongside "Who the hell is this now?" and it was Poles.
