The US decides election winners by electoral college, not really popular vote so defining the biggest landslide might be difficult.
Here's the largest landslide by popular vote.
Context:
>Pres. JFK, very popular conservative Dem gets assassinated
>His VP, a notably progressive Dem, Lyndon Johnson takes office
>Before this point, blacks outside the South, progressive Northerners, poor whites and pro-segregationist Southerners formed the base of the Dems while the GOP was supported by centrists and fiscally conservative, small government advocates, with some support among Southern blacks and most New Englanders.
>Johnson passes the Civil Rights act and Great Society(expansive welfare system), upsetting the virtual entirety of the South while solidly securing blacks nationwide, as well as nearly all progressives
>Barry Goldwater becomes the GOP nominee when running on a platform of strong conservatism and "states rights", which was coded language for being in favor for state-level segregation. He's Jewish and functions like an anti-Bernie.
>Election Day
>Goldwater wins the deep South and his home state of Arizona
>LBJ wins everywhere else having a lock on the black vote, progressives and keeping most angered Southern Dems out of voting for either candidate
>second time in history a GOP candidate wins in most of the former CSA
>reelected LBJ would later sign a bill that opened the floodgates to non-European immigration
>because of this election and later Reagan's mobilization of the once non-political evangelical bloc, the parties are what they are today, with the south and religious tending to vote solidly for the GOP and the north and blacks voting for Dems.

Popular vote determines who gets the electoral college votes of that state.

Biggest fucking blowout in Liberal party history, secured another nearly five years of glorious Tory rule before weedman fucked everything up

The Liberals got chucked right back to third party status for the first time and the NDP became opposition for the first time

The UK decides election winners by constituencies (seats) won, not national popular vote.

Here's largest modern landslide by electoral college votes.
Context:
>Under Jimmy Carter, an almost conservative Dem that still appealed to the few Southeners still skeptical of the GOP(which for many families in the South, there was a literal tradition to vote Dem, mine included), blacks and progressives, rules as a lame duck candidate, doing nothing for no one
>the Iranian hostage crisis was still fresh in everyone's mind, with consistent stagflation and incredibly high living prices, especially gas, everyone was open to something new
>Enter Reagan: A Californian, B-List movie star who's political career is no more serious then that of Arnold Schwarzenegger(being they both served as governors of California)
>GOP is undergoing a transformation from a primarily economically-minded party to a party supported by culturally conservative southerners
>Reagan runs on a relatively revolutionary platform of being in favor of the free market, small government(which could be interpreted as no welfare for minorities, less discrimination legislation, etc.)and religious conservatism, appealing to all walks of life, save for black people and the ever-increasing Mexican population.
>pulls a variety of one-liners in debates and using his ability to act as a weapon, he wins millions of votes based entirely on charisma alone
>wins the 1980 election in a landslide, save for some miscellaneous holdouts that he lost for various reasons
>reelection in 1984
>wins everywhere except in Minnesota, his irrelevant opponents home state and DC, a primarily black city
>he wins after the US economy rebounds and causes a return to fighting communism globally

I never said anything contradicting that you dumb mong. 2000 proved you didn't need to win the country's popular vote to get elected.

1945 election was interesting because a shitload of meme parties got in.

It was the only time the Communist Party got an MP into parliament in a Federal Election, though he was later sent to jail because he was spying for the Soviets.

The population was almost totally Aboriginal, Status Natives didn't get the right to vote until the 60s

Apologies, that's wrong. Inuit specifically were given the right to vote in the 50s.
