Conservatives - Only party not completely yes. Still run by cuckservatives though. Overall shit and will sell out canadians for big business. Never ever gets more than 40 percent of the vote and will likely elect a new leader that is a total compromising cuck soon because they recently lost power.

NDP - white people are evil; the party. Used to be a party for farmers and the working class. Now it's been hijacked by big city progressive toronto types. Saddest part is some working class areas haven't realized this yet and still elect them. Pure cancer.

Liberals - Left wing party with a strong social justice slant. Invented multiculturalism and gave us trudeau. Used to be centrist economically speaking but threw that shit out the window this past election when they promised high debt spending. This party is hated in western canada but keeps getting voted in by the more populated east

Bloq quebecious - Separatist party. Has elements of both leftism and nationalism. But the lefties run the party and make the decisions.

Green - irrelevant environmentalist party that cant get elected because of the first past the post system. Not as social justicy as the green parties in europe, but "social justice" is still one of the principles of the party. This party attracts a lot of weirdos too. From conspiracy theory types, to anti vaxxers, to hippies. most popular in BC where they get 10 percent of the vote or so.

pic related - our last election.

Preamble: They are all pretty shit, we need a shakeup, realign the parties. This election might just do it.

Republicans: The right, in a power struggle right now. A very simplified version of it would be between the Establishment (think Dubya) the Tea Party (Think Ted Cruz) and the populists (Trump). The current candidates and some relevant failures are Trump (populist) Ted Cruz (Tea Party) Kasich (mix between establishment and a much less hardline populist) Rubio (failed, likely not going to be in politics anymore but he was allegedly a mix between Establishment and Tea Party) Jeb Bush (hilarious failure, Establishment) Rand (failed, he was a libertarian). It generally is socially conservative and small gov, picks up socially conservative people and many rich people, but if Trump takes hold it might change course and go more populist.

Democrats - The left, socially liberal yet still (mostly) moderate fiscally. It has many streaks of "YES" flowing through it and minorities generally like this party. Anti-gun, welfare state, etc. Candidate is Hillary, Bernie is really just making a political statement at this point.

Libertarians - The surprise challenger, they are well-intentioned but quite nuts. Maximum freedoms to the point of near anarchy. Trying to become big this election in order to force a shakeup/supplant a party.

anyone else is either only relevant at a state level or is completely irrelevant.

We need an alternate right wing party.

Can do.

NDP - Social Democrats, the current Official Opposition. Formerly a largely agrarian party, with widespread support contained to rural regions, but now the exact opposite. They're competitive in most urban areas and dominate the far north, but fare extremely poorly in rural ridings and more affluent areas of the major cities. Their leader, Cam Broten, took over leadership of the party in a hotly contested leadership nomination, winning by a fraction of a percent. He's from the centrist wing of his party.

Saskatchewan Party - Liberal Conservatives, the current Government. Generally considered to lie on the centre-right of the political spectrum, which is fitting because they were created from eight floor-crossing MPs, four from the Progressive Conservatives and four from the Liberals. They run up huge majorities in rural ridings and richer areas of cities. Out of the 58 ridings in the last election, they won 23 with over 70% support. They are also at least competitive everywhere else, except the Far North. They're led by Brad Wall, Canada's most popular premier and a centrist and populist. Ever since he took power he's been sort of the embodiment of the Saskatchewan Party, which could be bad news for them if he decides to go into federal politics (which national media has been theorizing about for years).

Liberals & Progressive Conservatives - Both of these parties barely exist any more. Their support was utterly gutted when the Sask Party was formed, and those of their members who didn't migrate over to the Sask Party are about as likely to win a seat as...

Greens - The third party in the last election. Environmentalists, obviously, but also supporting a lot of leftist new wave ideas like basic income. Last election they won about 3% popular support, but no seats. Trying to establish themselves as "the third party", competing against the shambling corpses of the Liberals and Progressive Conservatives.
