For what it's worth I'll try to provide a legit answer. We need COMPETENT government, it isn't even that is corrupt, although by far that's the main reason it is incompetent, and it isn't that we are not capable, arguably Banxico and Seceretaria are about as competent, if not more, than any of their counterparts in Western Europe. The same can be said of SRE or Secretaria de Salud and I could probably list about a dozen Federal bodies that work as they should because the government has come to the realization, sometimes through very painful lessons, we really can't afford to have them fail. Of course this is easier to do with small centralized bodies than with disperse bodies largely reliant on local bureaucracies but this is as close to a silver bullet as we get, beyond partisan lines competent government. That would mean competent investigators who can build legal cases against criminals and bring them to justice, it means state governments that do not reroute so much of their budget to thieves and special interests they can actually do their work, it means an education system that actually provides a service on par with the amounts of money being spent on the sector, etc. And we need as citizens to demand technically proficient public officials, we do have people with the necessary education/experience in the country. What we can no longer afford is anyone in a position of responsibility in government who is both corrupt and incompetent. Yes, there are several very complex issues and I will agree corruption is problem no. 2 and that we need to deal with it, but the bottom line is it isn't about magic plans and creative solutions but just about government officials performing their jobs with competence. Our political system, ALL parties, ALL candidates is rotten and broken, we cannot afford a revolution, we can however as civil society demand basic competence and go to the courts, and the international system, when government does not deliver.
