I'm not gonna pretend to know anything about Turkish politics, but I think the military is more secular so I think it will be better for the turks in the long run.

Also, I've heard many high ranking Turkish generals are of Albanian origin. Don't quote me on that tho

I used to think syriza voters were the biggest sheeps I knew. Oh boy was I wrong

Last night the sultan persuaded his people to go and catch (anti armor) bullets for him and addressed them via the same means he'll eventually completely censor, alongside with the remnants of anything that's being secular

I'm happy to see Balkans (and /v4/) are the only ones on Europe who won't suck it up on censorship and islamization.

because you clearly can't see all turks have grown with a certain mentality that won't allow them go further than being an semi-secular islamic shithole who won only 2 wars in the past 100 years (and with one of them being against tourists and farmers in a small 800k populated island)

If Greece and Bulgaria wanted it, Eastern Thrace would belong to us. And in such occurrence, the Turks would have to chose between Thrace and the uprising of Kurds. But thankfully we don't have that way of thinking

>Do you guys think erdogan will eventually call for some martial law measures after he gets the situation under control once again?

no, he'll be doing what he has started 13 years ago: pushing for "reforms" and kicking out kemalists (aka seculars) from the army and replacing them with his minions like the ones you saw in the Police

this is why he militarized the police forces during the past years, had something like tonight's events occur: and it worked fine for him

good you answer your own questions. And guess what, nobody in the regions wants an shitlslamic neottomanist state like the one Erdogan is being slowly creating
>>
>>62162332
It was a pretty small part of the military and they didnt want to shoot a bunch of unarmed civilians.
So some of them surrendered and got murdered by said unarmed civilians. The highest ranking officer that has been arrested so far is a Rear Admiral which is equivalent to Brigadier General I think.
>>
>>62162360
>>62162405
You don't want it but they do , this is the reality of the situation. Did you wake up one day and forget you're bordering the fucking middle east? Because you are. Turkey was never european, it's stupid to expect them to act like it.
>>
>>62162458

a secular turkey is a better thing than an islamist turkey, lad. I know what I'm bordering, I prefer the lesser evil though
>>
>>62162410
Ataturk is a meme. You can only surpress the natural state of turkish society (islamic adherent) for so long, they'll just shift between different degrees of the same thing. They're the same enemy at full sharia law as they are with a non-religious regime.
>>
>>62162509
A secular Turkey will most likely be stronger though. Islamist Turkey is likely to turn out like one of the Gulf States that have endless money and still cant field a half-decent military.
>>
>>62162515
Islamist Turkey is more likely to try and pull a Crimea on us.
>>
>>62162544
A secular Turkey will most likely want to join EU They will do whatever EU says and stop acting like islamists
>>
>>62162635
The EU will never let them in. Nobody wants an EU border with Iraq and afterwar Syria.
>>
This military coup in Turkey got me wondering. If the Turkish police can beat the Turkish army, what would happen here?
Our police is twice the number of our army, and sees more action. I am pretty certain the Bulgarian army can't beat the Bulgarian police.

Whats the case for your cunt?
>>
>>62162544

I don't think you understand what's happened exactly, coup d'etats in turkey aren't like the average ones we see around the world (the military trying to take over and control the country), they're kemalists who are sworn to defend the country from islamist and reinstate secularism.

last nights events meant that Erdogan has successfully cucked the very foundation that his own country was built upon. He literally has armed men to defend his reign, not the country's sovereignty

ultimately, this is very bad news for all of us. We don't want that to happen but it did

president of democracy is powerless
We support their entrance to eu
Turkey doesn't recognise cyprus republic,a eu member, let aside the occupation in the north

but if they have to join eu,they will have to recognise cyprus too.And implement many reforms eu demands,in all the sectors. Most important in human rights. That's why we must not abandon the secular turkey and their attempt to join EU.It will make them more civilised and stable.

Armed soldiers thought the people would support them, didn't expect they'd have to fight. They didn't want to shoot at unarmed civilians, so they got swarmed and trampled and choked to death. A few were thrown from the bridge.

As you can see here, this blue part didn't vote for Erdogan (although I wouldn't know how good the 'blue guy' is), so I guess that they're the 'democratic' secular part.

That part will likely secede, and good on them. That part is also where most of the 'white' Turks are. The balkan rapebabies. There's been talk that there's around 11mil Turks with Serbian blood, or Serbian/Greek. If that's true, that's a huge amount of people. We and Greece could possibly 'rehabilitate them' and make them Christian again.
>>
>>62163567
It's very plausible they could break apart, I mean, this time they're the ones removing kebab by themselves

Or maybe erdogan gets to genocide the curds and keep it down if he gets to push some new press related reforms, he surelly will take over the media and wont allow anybody to contradict him from now on, so I believe he will profit from this current madness and will eventually change things around for the worse

What you guys forget is, ok the coup failed, but if it was a fraction of the army, where was the rest, the loyal army? Only saying we aren't it is what their support for Erdogan is? And notice, after time, when it became clear soldiers weren't ready to shoot. Where was the loyal police? Just standing by, doing nothing. That it failed now may be also a warning shot for Erdogan. I know Turks from Turkey that moved here, they are from cities in fact, but these people aren't islamist. They drink, they go to whores, they aren't interested in Islamic revolution, they want to play fifa and gta and be normal regular young people. Erdogan has the peasants, the poor, the majority of the young people he hasn't.

Because romanians are painfully docile and friendly people by nature. Wish it wasn't true, but it unfortunately is. We had so many chances to genocide them but didn't because we're thick. Even when we had an ultranationalist government, we didn't genocide them and instead purged the jews. (Who were much worse at the time, but the move was shortsighted).

Also, commies protected them a lot and gave them romanian ids and built them houses, and later west yurop forced us to give them a shitton of privileges.
>>
>>62166200
I can imagine how it could have been.

The thing is, people in brazil seem to love the idea of communism in general. When I tell them that's not the dream they have about it, they dont seem to understand it and call me crazy because they think all europeans are super rich and there's no such things as a hard time during communism nor in europe mainland.
I have the theory that communism was a good solution for the fast industrialization eastern europe was in need by the time, but still it seems like the damage it have done to the people were not worth it.
Italy was shit too during the post war era, but things got better during the marshall years.

I'm guessing those from albania are aromanians. Vlachs is an encompassing group, romanian are vlachs, but not all vlachs are romanians. Kinda like italians, french etc who speak a romance language but are different.
>>
>>62166588
Best thing is, those people will now be under the lights and will probably talk why did they started the coup. I really hope so, tho.
>>
>>62166618
The language bond between romanians and aromanians is stronger than between france and italy, but yes. Vlach is a linguistic term for romance speakers.
>>

When I get to speak to people that have higher educational standards around, they often tell me about countries like sweden and denmark, saying communism is worth it and they are role models for it.

Some friends I made around that share some redpilled ideas about it tried to explain me that those highly educated people get that sort of mindset when they get to college and start studying marxist related subjects. But I dont understand how communism would work in brazil anyways, you already mentioned what's happening now in venezuela, but they just close their eyes for it and keep looking up to the nordic kind of welfare state.

It's really crazy, I try getting out of politics around here but they love romanticizing communism by all means

Sure you're right, I dont think the communist approach was better than the western one, but we have to take into account what was happening at the time:

People were hungry, the east was poor, there were the wars, the east was not as industrial as it should've been, and so on. I relate communism as a historical approach that had to be put to real efforts in order to see if that's so perfect as people often say. The results were catastrophic, and I suppose it should never be tried again. But then we get to see so many people around saying that "real communism was never tried in real life, that thing that happened around the east was leninism, etc" and keep giving different names for the same thing.

I'll write that down, I'll see if I get to read that book. Thanks for the souce, pal

>"One reason that propaganda often works better on the educated than on the uneducated is that educated people read more, so they receive more propaganda. Another is that they're the commissars. They have jobs as agents of propaganda, and they believe it. By and large, they're part of the privileged elite, and share their interests and perceptions." - Noam Chomsky

I tend to agree with it. You've seen how many college educated people and academia are retarded feminists who believe in myths like the wage gap and that communism/socialism works. It's a lot easier to indoctrinate an educated man, if you regulate and influence what he's educated in.

Native balkans and/or roman settlers. Aromanians are an older race than romanians, but we're all from the eastern romance language group. The only two survivors.

I believe people in south america have the same mindset, but they dont get to find the flaws of the marxist rhetorical style when they get to college as your french buddy did.

For what I've experienced, many people that have good companies and sucessfull businesses tend to have some foreign background, they just dont have that drive for entrepreneurship we would find that easily in such countries like the united states, I suppose.

Most young people I asked around if they have ever thought about having their own businesses and their own thing they usually say they hope working for a huge multinational company or just working for the government

thing is, we were as industrialized (even better in some sphere) as the west before the war. Bulgaria had airplane building industry and had air forces before big countries like Germany and France had.
When the war broke and after we lost (tho technically we should be on the winning side after we flip the coin and fought for the fucking soviets against Germany) we were literally beheaded by the new regime - killing all the Bulgarian intellectuals, disbanding the private businesses, collecting the people's possessions like land and livestock, etc.

Overall, rapid changes in the political scene are always destructible even if the changes are for the good (and communism wasn't even for the good)

Sorry to burst your bubble but Aromanian split from Proto-Romanian(străromâna). Neither group is older.

Yeah, some countries that came out of the war as soviet union members were not that close to russia by any means, I mean, we can get a grasp about it if we look at hungary that at the time was getting better and better and I believe the other countries down south must have been at the same pace, but history happened and you guys had to to be "occupied" by the soviet army during the "efforts of war".

I feel a little bit sad about what happened in poland, by the way. I see no objection on what wrong doings have been done to you guys during the few decades communism was still a thing for you

Of course things were bad for you, I mean, during stalin times he have almost destroyed the entire population of ukraine. The thing is that in the west we dont learn that much about the soviet bloc (at least in italy), and I cant say that much about what happened to you guys.
I've been to romania once, I believe I told here on /balk/ yesterday I have a friend living in cluj, it's a very nice place. But I know you're all hardworking people and communism wasnt been fair to you at all. Regarding to poland, I would say that the baltics are the guys that complain the most about communism. >>62168828
No, you're an idiot. It was all way too pathetic to be a proper turkish military coup, and now Erdogan has the approval of the population to completely purge the military of any secular general or officer that can oppose him and force through any "reform" that'll give him more power.
>>
>>62168840
>>62168887
Yeah, but the nordic model just wouldnt fit in south america, I mean, look at venezuela right now.
I believe things worked for a while up north because they were already rich when they started trying this out, but we are to expect them to low their standards in the next couple of years (as they're already doing due to the amount of people they have imported for living off their benefits)
