Learning Serbo-Croatian will give you a headstart if you decide to learn other Slavic languages. Serbo-Croatian and Polish are the most complicated Slavic languages, due to grammar, and our grammars are pretty similar. The only issues is that Polish is harder to speak, because they didn't implement 'Sound change' (Google it if you don't know), so their language is really harsh. They have sounds that we don't use, but we can pronounce. As for Russian, if you know Serbian Cyrillic, you can pretty much read Russian, you'll understand around 30-50% of it though.
The easiest Slavic languages, grammar wise are Bulgarian, Russian and Macedonian. Russian is however the hardest Slavic language, it's the hardest to pronounce.

No Bulgarian thinks that all Romanians are gypsies or has even some beef with Romania, but for ex when we play them at football still you'll hear cigani chants. When Levski played Partizan you had chants like Srbite po pet na nozh, whilst majority of people here like Serbian grill and music and would never be with bad attitude when meeting serbs irl. There's also a huge hatred for communism here. We've also dropped most relations with Russia whilst the USSR was alive. When it dropped and they returned to the faith and became Russians, not Soviets again, we restored relationships and are bros again. Atleast we like htem, don't know how they feel about us.
