It's like any big cities nowadays. The rich live in the metro with $6,000 apartments. The poor live on the outskirts or the suburbs.

Their favorite place is West of Moscow in a region called Rublevka. But many also live in big apartments in downtown.

Not really. My parents built that house because they got lots of money in 90s by bringing clothes from Turkey and China and selling them here. Nobody with a "decent" job (unless they make their own business) could buy such big house.

Norwegian rich kids are seen as obnoxious by "common" norwegians, often because the common norwegians don't know them and have different expectations than reality. In any case, compared to other countries I think rich kids in Norway are still very much bound to the epic Janteloven.

t. spoiled rich kid who never got any problems with attitude and such because of money.
>>
>>62134629
> Norwegian rich kids are seen as obnoxious by "common" norwegians
Really? I don't have any preconceptions of Norwegian rich kids. They seem to blend in fairly well, in my opinion. I doubt I could tell the difference between a middle class person and a rich person just by talking to them.
How rich are you/your parents?
>>
>>62135323
Well, depends how rich we're talking. The children of the billionaires live in completely different "worlds" one could say, even tho they don't seem like it if you see them on the street.

But what I'm talking about is more the attitude of common people towards them. You know, someone from a normal working class family will have their own ideas about "rich kids" here in norway, and when they see them in the street or in a party or whatever, they will immediately judge them as obnoxious just because they think they "must be". But as I said, it's not really the case, the jantelov is a strong current even in the rich community. This is also seen by what kind of houses the rich are living in here, you could compare them to the homes of rich americans and you'd see a big difference. The houses of a rich family oftentimes look as though they're just upper-middle class. Pic related is an example of houses resided by some of the richest people in Oslo. But these houses are nothing compared to a rich american.

I don't know how much my family has, I'm guesstimating in total including properties about 50-70 mill nok, so not filthy rich.

"Everyone" is equally very comfortable in Norway, that's true.

But you have some 4000 Norwegians with a yearly salary 5million or more (or ~500 000 british £). Then you of course have billionaires whose income cannot be seen as a salary.

You could say we have a very small upper-class in other words.

Our "underclass",is very comfortable and should not be seen as "poor" by anyone else than Norwegians, because we would speak in relative terms to our own society, not the rest of the world's society.

So yeah, we don't really have class in Norway .. yet we do have it, just a little bit.

This is the home of one of the richest people in Norway, whose property is probably the fanciest in all of Norway. And yet, as you can judge for yourself, it's very modest compared to billionaires in America for example, or billionaires all over the world really.

Keep in mind that the small houses you see beside it, is part of his property too and share an underground corridor which connects them, so it's a little bit fancy yet.

I guess I don't really get to socialise with obscenely rich people in daily life. I assume they study in good schools abroad, and not here with us commoners. And I assume they don't go to the same places or do the same stuff as me.
It's kind of fascinating how we live in parallel with completely different concerns and goals.

>>62135971
Yes, class exists. There are poor people who struggle making ends meet, and there are people who can live in luxury for generations without having to work. There probably are very few people, if any, who are starving, though. We have a safety net in place to help people who fall out of the system.

Russian houses made out of wood or drywall are just as cheap as American houses though.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyRNJB2wHpU

After you realize these houses need 50cm thick walls, triple glazing in every window and a high end heating system to survive the winter. It starts to make sense why only affluent Russians(and Azerbaijanis, Georgians, Armenians and Jews) can afford.
>>
>>62138621
tundra's a full of resources. methane is common trapped in tundra ice and soil which give any land with tundra's vast amounts of natural gas.
>>
>>62139296
That's not how it works. Also the fact that these tundras are in thousands km for the nnearest settlments make all this gas and oil expensive and not really profitable.
>>
>>62139265
I dunno, those houses are pretty similar to what we live in right now and I'm only a plumber. my neighbors have the same kind of houses, 3 story houses, with brick laded walls, laminated wood foundation, expensive as fuck glass planes, ceramic tiling, etc. and considering it's in canada with the same weather in russia it seems as though we're doing okay here in the west.

I went to visit my cousin in houston texas, he has a HUGE house, his occupation is software dev and his place is massive! he even complains to me about feeling like a toady when his house is twice the size of my house.
>>
>>62139480
and? I do believe one of the biggest sources of methane right now lies in the ocean floor, If capitalist nations are capable of making individuals successfully brave impressive amounts of pressure underwater for natural gas. Russia could easily do that with just mining ice or shoveling dirt.

HEre the commie blocks are all built by giant corporations who get sweet special deals from the government to develop the economic activity of the area. Depends on the city. In the 80's and 90's any big shitty was basically a crime-ridden shit-hole since all the industrial jobs dried up in the 70's and anybody who could gtfo of there. But now, the only really major cities that are still shit entirely are Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago and rust belt cities, the rest have been gentrified pretty thoroughly. Now poor areas tend to be on the peripheries of big cities due to being priced out.

Here you could build something like that for 30k-60k, depending on square meters. The average building price is like 300 eur per square meter all inclusive. In burger I think that's like 330 usd per 10 square feet. The land is a bit more expensive but not by a lot, unless it's in some elite neighberhood where construction costs pale in comparison to land price.
This is the same in bulgaria, serbia, all the balkan cunts and turkey.

Tell smth more about the life in sout Korea. Is it easy to exchange dollars for a foreigner?
Can you put money on your Russian credit card from Korea?
What kind of rosette do you have?
How's the mentality of Koreans?
Are karaoke bars popular?
>>

It is really cozy and comfy. Me now living in Canada has really shown me the difference between lifestyles, as I feel a sort of discomfort in larger Canadian homes, and a nostalgic longing for my home childhood commieblock

>life in sout Korea.
>Is it easy to exchange dollars for a foreigner?
Yes. Doubt if that's the case for ruble
>Can you put money on your Russian credit card from Korea?
Eh idk. Chinese can use their Unionpay shit but not sure about Russian shit
>What kind of rosette do you have?
rosette? elaborate?
>How's the mentality of Koreans?
Jew but with more anger
>Are karaoke bars popular?

>Is it easy to exchange dollars for a foreigner?

You mean like at the currency exchange shops ? Yeah there's plenty of those although people try to avoid them because they charge high rates.

>Can you put money on your Russian credit card from Korea?

Russian credit card from korea ? What do you mean ? If your credit card works abroad then sure you can come and use it to pay in Korea. Typically you don't want to do that because of fees and you don't know what exchange rate they're going to charge you with (but some credit cards specialize in that I think)

>What kind of rosette do you have?
Not sure what that means. if you mean the socket type it's same standard as europe and 100% compatible with them.

>How's the mentality of Koreans?
Very busy I dont know what to say actually lol

>Are karaoke bars popular?
Yes very. But if you look for a place called "Karaoke" here you might get a surprise because those tend to be more prostitute oriented. We just call them Noraebang

In early 50s-60s houses were weird plannings and not enough space for average family.
80s-till nowadays houses are same as typical europoor ones. Most russians live in 2-3 room apartments with 50-70m2 living space.

Well, the most poor russians can live two ways:
1. The poorest russians (except for the homeless):
Live in the villages in the bad, old, small houses, sheds in fact. Without water supply, sewerage. They plant vegetable gardens, drink vodka a lot, do criminal stuff. They are uneducated and seldom have a regular job.

2. Poor russians. They live in small apartaments in the towns and cities. Have regular job. They can buy on salary enough food, get credit for household appliances and almost nothing more. By the way, they have their own appartaments as a rool, but in this case they may live in it the whole big family. Their education may be bad or very good, with a high cultural level.
