>>
>>62110188
my neighborhood is filled with snob so basically stuff that costs money

if you don't have a gated house you are asking to get broken into. But realistically, they can be easily jumped. They generally don't help as the thugs wait until you are about to enter the house so they force themselves in at gunpoint. They are fashion more than anything.

When I arrived to a gringo suburb and took a stroll I was astonished at how unprotected everything was. Felt weird.

How often do break ins occur? Are they ever violent?

Some of my family live in South Africa (Johannesburg) and every house there is lined with 2 metre high fences topped with barbed wire and electrified barriers, plus private guards patrolling if it's a gated community.

>How often do break ins occur?
Every 3 or 4 months. A month ago some dude broke into a house and began hopping walls, broke in out our second building look for shit but didn't find anything then left. Granted it was weird, that doesn't happen.

>Are they ever violent?
Always. our neighbor is an old business and he got broken in and tortured until he said where he was hiding the money.

>house there is lined with 2 metre high fences topped with barbed wire and electrified barriers, plus private guards patrolling if it's a gated community.

electrified? if there's gates it's a closed neighborhood. Generally, only big snobs live there. They don't help stopping crimes much either.

That said, I do live in a relatively upper class neighborhood, surrounded by some of the poorest in the city.

any part of buenos aires (that isn't poor as fuck) will do. Don't go to the richest place because things start to feel fake and tourist friendly. Then again for a first worlder I guess that is your normal. Since you probably don't know anything, palermo will do. Lots of middle class girls willing to let foreigners into their apartments for a couple days, and sometimes their beds.

Regarding asado, it's anything from a meet up with friends to eating in a run down parrilla (asado restaurant) 4 blocks from a neighborhood center. Palermo is a shitty place for either deal since anything that resembles a parrilla there aint' nothing but a fancy restaurant.

If you ever explore the conurbano, you'll know when you find them. I guess it's a sort of pride thing, something that transcends social classes. But that's what I consider a real parrilla to be. Somewhere you stop after a work shift to relax and have a drink for a while.

And regarding the rest of our cuisine, don't leave before you've eaten all of the following:

- Pastas, preferably from an Italian restaurant with proper lineage. They are tight about their legacy so their food is practically measured for proper taste.
- Pizzas, there's a place right next to the Obelisk that has some of the best pizzas I've ever eaten.
- Choripan. It's worker food but it's the quintessential worker's food, much like burger for americans. And you better put chimichurri on it.
- Pastries, facturas and alfajores. You anglos only have candies and mass produced shit. You need to know the real deal when it comes to sweet teeth. And if you say dulce de leche tastes like nutella i'll fucking kill you.
>>
>>62111578
Oh, I forgot empanadas. Can't leave without eating those.

That sums up the whole "porteño" deal. There's a lot of traditional foods that escape me right now that you should try too.

you mean pisswater?

You can try look up homebrews, which are starting to become a thing here. Otherwise, just drink Stella.

Argentina is a big place and the different tourist attractions & natural landscapes are separated by a thousand miles of cold plains and meadows. You'll need more than one trip if you want to see Argentina's nature. In Buenos Aires, our best landscapes are our fancy 19th century attempts at being European. I dunno, if I were you I'd visit the city to see how people roll, which is rather different than how people does in the northern hemisphere.

It's in Newcastle, a city which is kinda in an awkward phase of not being nice enough to have a tourism industry yet, not having the option of a steel industry any more, with the world's largest coal exporting harbour in a time when coal is becoming less and less valuable and relevant.

Newcastle is trying really hard to be artistic and hipster, but the fact we got the first ever lockout laws here means the nightlife is a piece of shit so most people piss off to Melbourne if that's their thing.

Broadmeadow is okay as far as Newcastle suburbs go. It has the stadium where the knights play, a horserace track, a showground and 4 pubs. It's about 10 minutes away from what you would call the CBD. There are some junkies around the train station, but there are worse neighbourhoods around here.

Whats your Broadmeadow like?

The centre of Newcastle looks quite nice actually, it's a pity they instated those retarded lock out laws. Fucking nanny state garbage.

Ours is called Broadmeadows, it's a low income outer suburb of Melbourne infamous for it's gangs and high crime. Although that crime is moving out further West these days.

The lockout laws suck, and the ban on takeaway piss after 2200 is the worst bit, but there are quite a few violent rock apes in this town, so you can see where they were coming from.

The worst part is that the guy who owns the two biggest, most violent clubs is actually on the licensing board. how that cannot be a conflict of interest is just a fucking farce.

He uses his position to ensure his clubs are the latest opening and to put pressure on his competition and squeeze them.

If you want to go to a cool rooftop bar and listen to interesting music and smoke cigarettes with art students, they all close at 0000.

If you want to drink any later than that, you have to get crammed into a booze barn with 500 guys in tapout shirts which just plays the same Pitbull and Rhianna songs all night.

One time I picked up this girl from Brisbane off tinder, she was staying at a hotel across the road from one of those pubs, I said to her "I guarantee there will be a fight at that macdonalds at 0230." She laughed, assuming I was just making a joke about my town being a shithole. Come 0230, sirens... That was a Wednesday night...

They trialled them here in Melbourne for two weeks and there were massive protests so they fucked them off. Say what you will about this city, but that's one thing our Rent-a-Crowd lefty uni student crowd is useful for. It's great having all night public transport on weekends and clubs that open on Thursday night and close on Monday afternoon, gives you freedom. I don't even go clubbing that much, I just like being able to grab a sixpack of beers from a bottle-o whenever I feel like it.

They're as comfy as you can make them. Too sterile for me though. I'd like to have something a little more comfy. Even the worst commieblocks don't have junkies, they usually get beaten up or cleaned up by cops.

Not only is the current Casino exempt, they are in the process of approving a second Casino which will also be exempt.

> You guys cant drink

Yes, James Packer worked in collusion with the government there to funnel the remains of Sydney's nightlife into his shitty Casino

comfy, if you don't live above two tram lines like me, this street is 2 minutes from my house and it's so silent and peaceful.

also should note that Milan is probably the city with the most broad streets in Italy, you only have narrow alleys in the very center.

I would legitimately kill to live somewhere like this.

Used to live in Melbourne which had similar sort of areas close by to where I lived, but then I basically got fucked by a series of disasters in my life which made me lose my job, money etc and I had to move back in with my parents.

Fucking live in the burbs now and there's nothing to fucking do ever.
