- It is one of the poorest country of Europe and they aren't helped by foreign aid because they are whites so no one care and aren't helped by the EU like Poland because they aren't part of it.
- The fecundity rate is unbelievable low.
- It has a sad history. Particularly the Jew Lazare Kaganovich caused a terrific famine in 1932-1933 which killed about 7 million Ukrainians.

Famines are actually (partly) a result of collectivisation from 1929. They didn't affect Urkainians exclusively, neither they started there. 30s famines covered the area from Ukraine to Western Siberia, touching Kazakhstan even. Started around lower Volga. The most realistic number of victims combined is 4 millions USSR-wide.
You forgot Lenin's genocide of Cossacks even it was not only in Ukraine and Cossacks identify as special snowflakes.
Ukraine did good in USSR times compared to many. They have superior soil just like some other parts of southern European Russia. I don't know why do you guys think it's a kind of Africa level hellhole. It has less dollaridoos but prices are low, they're not dying from starvation or anything. A big crisis and some shootings, yes, but the majority of the country feels OK. Post-soviet legacy and shit, maybe they will make it even faster than us.
