What is your favorite creature from your state/country?

Mine is the Muscovy Duck, which isn't technically native to the US but they are all over the place in Florida, where I live. Lots of them live in my neighborhood, very friendly creatures.

Might as well ask

most people's favorite animal doesn't live in their country. there are no tigers in slovenia, there are no platypus in canada. I want to know about people's favorites in their own country.

In my state, easily one of the three species of cave crawdads.
Missouri has some based caves.

There's really no substantial difference: just a more precise form of solipsistic navel gazing.

Huntsman spider i guess

Brings back good memories from my childhood, chasing them when they appear in the house, they're quite fast and hard to catch, and when we were able to catch one with a tissue we didn't crush it but trap it inside the tissue then throw them at each other
