I didn't know they had that in other countries. I used to love drinking them since it was only ~$1.60 for one of the big cans or 40oz bottles with high alcohol content and I even grew to enjoy the taste.

I'm thinking about getting into wine but don't really know anything about it. Any tips? Should be affordable.

Well they're actually not usual in Germany, but I live in a city that is adjacent to a US army base. Americans simply brought their grocery stores over here. hence, I'm able to procure American beer breddy easily
>>61650206
They're on sale desu. Might have a few to satisfy my curiosity. Is it really that bad?

I take it you mean German beer right? I usually get Kapuziner Weizen, not sure how to translate that.

I also drink Pilsner or Budweiser now and then (the Czech variety). Czech people really have this beer thing down pat.

Oh it is. Have you ever had a wheat beer? It's an entirely different beast compared to you run of the mill Lager/Pils. Taste is completely superior. You do need a glass though, preferrably like the one in your pic.

I think Blue Moon is the only wheat beer I've had. I'll have to see where I can find a glass like that. Hopefully my local craft beer store sells some.

As a beginner you can make beer on the cheap with almost no difficulty. All you need for equipment is:
>Large, tapped fermenting vessel
>Hydrometer
>Large stirring spoon
>S-bend airlock
>Steriliser
>Temperature strip
>Bottles
>A place to put the wort whilst it's fermenting - out of direct sunlight and in a relatively cool place.
You can buy all of these in single kits at your local homebrew store (of which America has a fair few).

Kit beers are essentially tinned grain and hops extracts that you can buy (pic related). You can follow online recipes that jazz them up a bit to make them pretty decent (recipe examples: http://store.coopers.com.au/brewing-info/recipes.html). Almost zero talent required, and in 3 hours I'll set a 23L beer to brew. If you get a feel for it and enjoy it, you can move onto more complex techniques and understanding.

As for timeline:
> Day 0: spend 3-4 hours producing 23L of beer 'wort' for fermentation. Commence brewing.
>Day 10-16: spend 2 hours bottling the beer. May need to spend a few more hours beforehand cleaning bottles if you don't have any that are sterilised.
> Day after: clean the fermenting vessel and begin my next batch.
>Day 90: the 1st beer has been optimally conditioned in the bottle and is ready for drinking

Had some bombardier, bought it in cans though because it's cheaper, for some reason ale gets me absolutely shitfaced compared to lager or cider, despite ale usually having slightly less alcohol.

I have something similar. For some reason vodka gets my head spinning and my stomach swirling after two drinks compared to a comfy decent buzz after half a bottle of whiskey or gin. Can't figure out why beyond the taste being a bit nauseating.

Nothing better than Bourbon.

Except Scotch, but that's not a frequent indulgence for me.
