>>
Turning to feudalism combined with massive invasions. Also Empire has not really fallen, it was slow and gradual transition. People were sure they live in a Roman Empire until 1000s. First empire economy had an era of turbulence with transition to feudalism. Second Empire was fighting invasions of barbarian chiefs. Regions of Empire started seceding from it on an ethnic basis creating vassal relationships of feudalism. Empire let some barbarians settle and lasted for some time with this because Goths gave new recruits and became romanised very quickly but Atills invasion finally crushed the centralized power of Empire and Emperor finally became a symbolic person ruling nothing. Barbarians who came romanised very wuicky though and maintained roman culture for ages before transition of it into the European medieval culture which made enable the possibility of Renaissance.
Also the big problem was a Christianity and other cults which became popular in late roman empire. Society became more conservative and sectarian violence became more popular resulting in increasing grade of economy decline.

>He believes in the 'Romans promoted multiculturalism' meme
Romans didn't have the power to forcefully assimilate all their subject populations, though they tried via Italian colonization (hence why France and Iberia speak Latin languages). In reality, they hated non-Greek cultures so much that it wasn't until the first century AD that ethnic Italians from Gaul and Iberia were even allowed in the senate, because the Romans believed living their corrupted with with barbarity.

They were xenophobic but the other fact is that people in Roman empire became Romanized extremely fast even by modern standards. There was actually no cultural issues in fall of Roman empire, it was pure economical and military thing. The only thing linked to culture was a sectarian violence caused by spreading Christianity and society becoming more conservative.

>one region (w. europe) rules the world for over 2k years
Well, it's nit correct. Roman Empire ruled only MENA, France and southern Europe, no China or India involved. Before the 1400s Europe was an irrelevant shithole. Than Mongol invasion happened and shitted countries from China to Egypt not touching Europe at all (it's the reason why the Russia is retarded compared to the West). So Europeans got the handicap and invented capitalism first becomin world hegemons.

Well considering the empire fell due to the germans already in rather than the ones pushing from outside, one would argue that they killed it.
That said, the situation is not like nowadays. The germs had to be let in because after the plague there was like noone left on the northern frontiers.

The Roman Empire survived through all the Middle Age (and it has been a first "Europa") with the name of Sacred Roman Empire, Francesco
>>61587404
There are two official reasons:
- the "barbar invasions" theory (bullshit)
- the lost of muh latin appartenance theory
Roma actually "exported democracy" (or, well, "its" democracy) and the "product" they sold was regarded as valuable between the populations involved. "Divide et impera" (leaving regional customs alive) was a way to "attract" populations to Roma. There were mainly a latin and a roman citizenship.
With the time and the riches, the army switched from a compulsory army for all roman citizens to an army of mercenaries.
A nation that does not have a mandatory army is half a nation, people were interested only in living the NEET life and accepted the barbarian invasions and various jewish tricks to keep the old empire alive (with the fictio iuris named in the latin brocardium "unum imperioum unum ius")

Man it's a complex and long story and 2bh I should have followed what my m8 >>61603358 suggested

They make up part of us, but so do many other peoples. It's not even close to comparable to the Austrian situation whereby they historically inhabited the same nation as their fellow Germans (the HRE) and even today speak the same language as them.

Austrians only stopped considering themselves Germans after their spat with Prussia.

Padano pls. I understand you want your heritage to feel more important, but the true successor was the Byzantine Empire. Constantine relocated the capital to Constantinople during his reign. Needless to say, the empire controlled by the barbarians was vastly inferior in all levels compared to the real one until it's fall.

White people. You see the first romans was ruled by kings who was black. Tarquinius superbus the last black king of rome was overthrown by the whiteys who ruled rome for a couple of centuries. Until sulla the great black general overthrew the whiteys and exterminated them in the social war. Now blacks was running rome again and a whitey wasnt seen in the region again until it was sacked by alaric and the whiteys eventually killed or sent the black romans to africa. Julius caesar was black
