Is it really a matter of race though?
For example, if you put forward the idea that it is based on IQ, then surely the homogeneous Asian populations should be human paradises, but China is not.

I didn't presume the phrase in the end of the video implied that it's a matter of race and I don't believe that IQ is a valid and reliable way to measure intelligence. I'm just saying 'it' didn't go wrong everywhere, but some sort of research must be done in order to find out why, or else >>61586070

These are all very stunning.
Do you have a particular liking for early 20th century America or is this a meta form of banter?
Liberalism, the media, and America are to blame for pretty everything we don't like.
>Liberalism
Memes aside, at its roots liberal movements are a charitable set of ideals based on increasing the quality of life fir otherwise disadvantaged persons, the poor and working class, children, refugees, &c. Unfortunately, it works sort of like medicine, the right dose, of the right prescription, can be very helpful, but too much and/or the wrong type can be fatal
>Media
You could also call this one Jews or the mouthpiece of liberalism, but on its own it's still a cancer on healthy society. Media sets trends and informs culture, therefore the quality of one's society is only so food as the quality of one's media.
>America
In the beginning of their Civil Rights movement blacks dressed, spoke, and acted, like every other person. As America resisted the blacks seperated farther and farther from the mainstream, creating a violent and disgusting culture. This, mixed witybthe fact that their antics were entertaining and the media saturation of their "culture" spread like wildfire throughout the world. That's why London ir Paris are full of chavs and blacks in baggy clothes and flat brimmed NYY hats
Shanghai, 1930s

>>61590558
>>61590597
I don't have any pictures of Australia at that time to show, but hypothetically I could post pictures of grand colonial style boulevards and imperial buildings or I could post pictures of wharfside slums and open air latrines. Yes there was great stuff at the time but most of us wouldn't be in that elite who would have been able to enjoy. It's pure delusion to hail that time of history as some hallmark of a model society.

Always weird watching an old movie then going on IMDb and seeing they're dead or extremely old.
Nothing went wrong.
Working class people stopped having to work 10 each day for 50 pence a day and started showing their faces at Broadway.
Small stores were reformed into chains with increased efficiency and lower prices.
You guys are feeling nostalgic towards a society where only one percent of the people were actually a part of. The rest lived in slums or on the countryside.

>>61591208
What people don't realise is that there is a direct connection with why those pictures look so great.
Working class people had no business walking around in places like that.
The reason why the buildings changed in California Street, San Francisco is that extremely large corporations moved in to streets like that, and required high office buildings.
>>61591388
Don't you think there's something to be said of the architecture and people?
>>61589873
its a tourist thing, they rent them out for them.
I'd love to walk around these places and interview people. I feel like so many stories have been lost and the only shred of evidence that they were ever around is a face in the corner of one of these photographs.
>>61591562
fascinating isn't it
>>61591608
Yeah, and I think about my granparents generation who are the last ones to have any meaningful connection to that time and they're all passing on now.

Technological advancement. Specifically, two things - improvements in medicine, and the modern pervasiveness of the automobile.
Lower infant mortality has lead to dramatic overpopulation relative to previous centuries. Look at these photos. Notice how there are way fewer people. No chavs everywhere smoking cigarettes as they haul their 5 fetal-alcohol babies around. No swarms of people everywhere during the work day.
Cars are the other part of the equation - no rush hour traffic, no weathering of all the building faces from the exhaust.
Fewer people, and no cars.
>>61589928
that's because it was; argentina was actually on track to becoming notable back in the day. iirc they had a similar gdp to italy in the 20's.

>>61594025
they got that way in the first place by massively opening their doors to european immigrants, much like the usa did, and making education compulsory and free, encouraging agricultural production (which, even today is one of their biggest sectors; they sell lots of beef especially).
started to go to shit when they had a military coup d’état in the thirties, then the great depression hit which also affected them, THEN they later had another coup in the seventies, this one aided by the usa because they elected a leftist government and the us didn't like that, and then yet again this idiot named carlos menem ended up being elected around the nineties and doing awful shit like ripping out all their fucking railroads; even to this day, if you say his name, you apparently bring bad luck on yourself.
few things, all in relative succession. argentina still happens to be arguably the most developed nation in south america, though, make of that what you will.
>>61594311
It's a bit slanted on the right side isn't it?
I only appreciate this era from a purely architectural standpoint. I don't like the skyscrapers we built after ww2, and it ruined manhattan desu.
