Not economically feasible to have children in this day and age. People elect for more wealth rather than spending it all on kids. For a family to even work both parents need to have full time jobs on an average salary. And that's if they just want to survive on basics.

Sexual liberation, people rather not be tied down to 1 person for the rest of their life and would rather just fool around all their life.

Simply put, people are selfish by nature. Improvements in society means there is no need to have kids or get married for that matter.

They've given up on the residents. They'll let them die out without children and slowly, immigrants willing to have many children will fill in the gaps. I don't know how long that will help out for though, the kids of immigrants will be born into this rich society and they too will see no need to have kids themselves. Flooding Europe with immigrants is a short term fix for a long term problem.

How come Ireland is the only country in Europe to have steady birthrates? France can't catch them up with those welfare policies.
