All in all the UK is over a barrel and the EU knows it. Finance, one of the UK strong points has a significant dependency on passporting. Without this some banks will shift stuff to the EU which is a big loss for the UK and the beginning of the end of London as a financial centre....unless Corp taxes fall dramatically and we somehow become more competitive.
Germany and Ireland stand to lose a lot but other EU nations not so much. As a result agreeing a settlement will be tough for the UK that does t include free movement of people which upsets the voting public so it would seem.
If the UK was being utterly cynical and self serving it should find a way to precipitate a run on Italian banks. That'd see the Euro and the EU collapse as Germany can't afford to bail Italy out. So either you have Euro bonds or bye bye Euro. Probably the former would happen which may lead to a popular revolt.
If the UK government had any sense it would scurry to the Anglosphere and look to make trade deals there quickly and maybe even free movement of people (there's tons of Aussie and kiwis here already).
If the UK had more time and capability it could aim to start an EU alternative based on free trade online. This might pick up support from some Nordic countries.

The Bank of England determines the interest rate and the whole yield curve. Inflation is determined by supply constraints not demand and the value of a currency is based on it's availability to be used to close tax obligations.

We have 5% unemployment, pretty close to our natural rate, and though it'll likely change after brexit we've been having 2-2.5% growth rates the last 2 or so years. We're not in a demand depressed state and we don't have massive amounts of slack in the economy.
