Chinese and Soviet relations were really tense for the majority. The two governments rarely worked together after the 50s.
The main reason China was open to reconciliation with the US in the 1970s, was due to their fear of the soviet union. The fact they were willing to reestablish diplomatic ties with a country that recognized Taiwan as the government of all of China should show how far relations between the USSR and PRC fell from the 50s.
