austria (vienna)
hungary (budapest)
poland (krakow and warsaw)
i went for 3 weeks and in total i spent $1,053 CAD (not including my plane ticket which was about 900 dollars canadian round trip)

Are the Balkans cheap. Their GDP per capita is much lower than the rest of Europe so I suppose they could be cheap. A lot of historic sites and great nature throughout the Balkans.
