Soviets didn't do the same thing though, not nearly to the same extent if you want to argue about it.
Germany flat out invaded countries, occupied them and started a process of colonisation and deportations. Gross Germanium wasn't a meme.
The Soviet union established puppet states and enforced communism. Ideologically a much less hars system that required the people to be indoctrinated rather than removed and destroyed. They did deportations too, as well as a fair bit of colonisation but not with the same goals as Germany. They were more than happy to have keep ethnic states as long as they were communist and tied to them.
In other words if Germany had 60 years of control over eastern Europe there would be mass death, expulsion and, when and if it fell, half the countries would either not exist or be severely altered.
Meanwhile while communism fell countries like Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, etc were still there, almost in an unaltered state, exceptions being Poland that was shifted and "compensated" for their loss in the east and strips of territory taken away from Romania and Czechoslovaki which were both added to Ukraine.
