Since he has kicked so many hornets nests in his videos he has diluted any serious impact he may of had.
If he picked gender or economy or Socialism or any one single topic and explored it utterly he would be a lot more well known and have a lot more effect on said topic, perhaps to a much larger audiance too.
As it stands he has spread himself too thin and minimized the effect he can have on a single topic. Or at least encourage action on a nation-wide level.
Beyond that, one of the few people on Youtube worth listening to.
he has some really interesting interviews. I don't know where he finds some of these obscure academics, but props.

Ive always said Joe Rogan unknowingly killed whatever influence he might have had at some point. He might be able to pull an Alex Jone's and go "we were moderates all along". But he hasn't given up on some of his hard truths
