I'm from southeast PA and still in it. It's a pretty good state-- the pinnacle of "generic Americana" if I had to imagine one US state to represent that. The state is very "plain" though. Our central mountains were the tallest in the world.... tens of millions of years ago. Now they're just huge rolling hills. Philadelphia is touted as a "hidden secret" of cheap living and great culture, but 50%+ of the city is legitimately dangerous at night. North PA is just trees.... friendly older white people everywhere. Pittsburgh seems cool.... haven't been out there though.
It's just not an exciting state. I'm living in one of the wealthiest counties in the entire country and bored out of my mind. Nothing but endless suburbs. Also feels like a giant rat race with everyone else our here.
The women are really beautiful though. Polish blondes, jewish/italians with black hair/blue eyes, sicilians, german and english redheads, etc.
Planning to move out when I can. Great state, but not for me....
Eastern PA is basically just New Jersey (read = shit) while western PA is bumfuck Appalachia ridden with backwoods cousinfuckers and fatasses.
