So Norway has voted to become 'climate neutral' by 2030. Dont they know how bad mining for metals is to the fresh water sources of the Earth? Why are they being so selfish?

I bet they will also be gender neutral by 2030

HUE HUE HUE
>>
>>60961039
And discriminate against the other 28 genders? I think not.
>>
meh we're so small and irrelevant, it's not gonna save the planet as long as countries like China and Russia etc. are producing all the shit they pump into the earth
it's just so our politicians can brag about how good they are
>>
>feel guilty about polluting by exporting one of the world's mist sought after products
>pay the jews billions to clear conscience

Stopping toxic waste is more important to me but it's nice that Norwegians are taking a chance.

What will happen to all the fossil fuel infrastructure tho?

Did you even read the article?
>CO2 cuts and carbon trading to offset emissions from sectors such as Norway’s oil and gas industries, which are unlikely to be phased out in the near future
>>
>>60961212
well I heard on the news lately that another goal is to get rid of cars that run on fossil fuels and just have electrical cars, and they're already doing stuff to get electrical buses for public transportation
>>
>>60961396
International media misinterpreted the news and thought we were banning all gas and diesel cars by 2025, kek.

What happens to the oil equipment? Does it get sold to BP?
>>
>>60961396
They're called trolleybuses and they've been aroud for almost a century.

>get rid of cars that run on fossil fuels

I have read that there are cities in USA where diesel cars are illegal to drive, so we are not totally out of course here

The single party that supports killing off the petroleum industry have less than 5% of the voters. All other parties, included two regarded as 'green' have no plans of ending production anytime soon.

a trolleybuss can only follow the path made by wires hanging over it, right?
with a modern electrical bus you could take the passengers everywhere, including rural areas
>>
>>60961977
and btw trolleybus wires are unaesthetic as fuck
>>
>>60961680
How can you be climate neutral if your producing fossil fuels ??
>>
>>60961504
that's tacky
>>
>>60962081
It's a meme. We pay other countries to lower their CO2 emmisions to nullify ours. There's no such thing as 'zero emmisions'.

The most polluting country is the US 2bh

We already love his cars though, tiny Norway has been Tesla's third largest market behind USA and China for quite some time. We even passed China earlier this year and held second position for a short while.

Electric cars are exempt from most taxes/fees (and come with tons of benefits like free parking, toll booth pass and right to drive in bus lanes), so they're basically 50-60% off compared to similar fossil fueled vehicles. Almost one fourth of cars sold here last year were PEVs.
