Is Ian only a British name? Now that I think of it, I've never heard of a burger with that namd

t. Ian
>>
>>60700968
>Paco

Paco is not really a name, it's a derivative name that comes from Francisco, it's a funny and affectionate way to call someone who's name is Francismo.

So yes, all Pacos you've ever heard about are actually named Francisco, like the Pope.

The names in Spain differ a lot by the region.

Never met a Nigel and never met anyone under 55 called Ian

My dad's called Ian, but i think it's dying out, sort of an old name now tbqh.

Only know a few Nigels desu, ones an old man who owns the local papershop (used to do paperrounds for him) and the other in my uncle. Nice name though i think.

>Does Gabriel have any connection with femininity in France? It does to some degree here in the US.

men: Gabriel
women: Gabrielle

>Also, is Richard a traditional French name?

it is, but it's quite uncommon nowadays

T'inquiète je m'en sortirais
Je met même des bouchons en concert et en teuf pêh
>>
>>60711849
All right, thank you. Also, I heard that one can change any part of their name to a more French-sounding name when they attain citizenship. Do you know anything about this?
>>
>>60711578
Gabriel is male and Gabrielle is female, no connection at all for us. It is like Michel/Michelle, Raphael/Raphaelle, Claude/Claude, Paul/Paule (even though, male form is more common for those ones), Dominique/Dominique (tricky one :D), Frédéric/Frédérique (the only female named Frédérique I know is my aunt)

I would say Richard is English, but I know some. It's quite rare but not disturbing

Richard and William are some of the best names in all honesty, shame that Richard doesn't seem to be common over there. I know loads of Richards and Williams.

yes you can
>>
>>60712096
Thanks. Does this include the middle name(s) and the first and last name?
>>
>>60712202
We don't consider the middle name like americans. We have a first name, a last name, maybe a second and third name, but those are rarely asked for

I could ask you the same.
>>
>>60712314
Is the 'middle name' considered a second first name?
>>
>>60712395
It is yes
But, as noone will ask you, you could almost change them yourself
>>
>>60712520
I see. Do you think it would still be available to change though?
>>
>>60712564
Since you can change both first and last names, you can certainly change your second one too
>>
>>60712395
No it's really not important
The only time i ever hear it is with friends like at the airport or when you need your passport like "lmao your 2nd name is [embarassing name] hahaha"
NEVER had anyone ask for it otherwise
I don't even bother writing it in forms anymore desu
>>
>>60712600
All right, thank you.
Despite it not being needed necessarily, I have reasons for wanting to change my middle and last name.
>>
>>60712089
if your grand parents are not named George & Victoria and Edward and Elizabeth, you're pretty much not English

Do not worry, I am not a criminal or wanted for anything. I am a law-abiding fellow :)
>>
>>60712874
But what is this unwanted middle name actually ?
>>
>>60712940
It is mostly the last name to be honest, but the middle name as well.
>>
>>60712973
tell me this name my friend
>>
>>60712973
I can't imagine any American name being that bad
Are you embarassed because it's like a black or asian name ? You know, people will notice you aren't white anyways
>>
>>60700968
Younger people: Sam, Daan, Lucas, Jonas
Gen X: Sven, Jürgen, Pieter
Babyboomers: Dirk, Wim, Jan

There is nothing bad about it. My middle and last names are just very foreign (still white though) and I want to integrate as fully as possible. Also, I do not want any potential children I have to stick out with it.
>>
>>60713151
How foreign ? If you're called Goldstein it can be a good thing you know
If its Italian people will like it too probably
>>
>>60711242
>>
>>60713151
Look at it this way : if you're too shy to tell random people on 4chan, what will you say to the immigration officer ? You should start now and tell us tb h
>>
>>60713280
>>60713363
No, a long German name :(

And my middle name is also not bad, but just not French.
My first name is Gabriel though, which I do not have a problem with because it seems to be a traditional French name.
>>
>>60713420
Yep, no problem with Gabi
>>
>>60713420
Is it Schiedt?
>>
>>60713420
Nobody cares about German names, it can pass off as an Alsacian one.
>>
>>60713420
ACHHH HALLO MEIN OFFIZER
ahahahahhh yes it would definitely embarass you tb h
>>
>>60713507
Still. When they offer to change my name when I am getting citizenship, I see no reason not to.
>>
>>60713561
I guess it's an American thing to do. Here almost noone change their name, but suits yourself.
>>
>>60713420
Don't do it. I have a long Italian last name and I love it. It provides a little bit of individuality while still considering myself fully American. Heck I was even in contact with the people in Italy with my last name and it was interesting to connect that we were family.

Unless your last name is jewburnerhitlerkaizer I doubt anyone would treat your future kids differently.
