Christians were taxed because they were not conscripted , they weren't in the army so they had to pay some money but if the Empire accepts Christians as soldiers and conscripts them , Christians of that Empire does not pay additional taxes ( For example late Ottoman Empire , mainly after the abolishment of Timariot System )
